The scope of work includes new extended capacity/NEMA Type VI cabinet assemblies, new vehicle detection systems, full actuation, new
mast arms, and pedestrian signalization at three signalized intersections.
SR A1A/Collins Avenue/Indian Creek Drive Ride Rehabilitation Project - FDOT D6
SR 94 Kendall Dr / RRR From SW 132 Ave to SW 122 Ave - FDOT D6
Signal Retiming Services Consultant - FDOT D6
General Traffic Engineering Services (City of Kew West)
Ongoing Since 2020
Ongoing Since 2018
Ongoing Since 2018
Ongoing Since 2018
Serving as the EOR for signalization and Temporary Traffic Control Plan (TTCP) for this project. This project includes upgrading the intersection from semi-actuated
to fully actuated operations with microwave vehicle detection system (MVDS) and upgrading substandard pedestrian signalization to meet current MUTCD and FDOT
standards.
Serving as the Deputy Project Manager supporting with the overall management and performance of signal retiming services for over 1300 signalized intersection on the
State Highway System and TSM&O initiatives. Erik served as the Project Engineer for the development of the Monroe County Traffic Signal System (MCTSS)
Automated Traffic Signal Performance Measures (ATSPM) Implementation Plan for 49 signal controllers0 Erik supported the District Traffic Design Engineer with the
development of MCTSS specific Signalization Design Notes and Guidelines.
EOR responsible for analysis and design for the implementation of signalization improvements to this segment of Kendall Drive, which included 4 signalized intersection.
Project improvements included design of a hybrid loop-video detection/VVDS system with the existing Econolite 2070LX signal controller and Centracs ASCT system
and upgrading pedestrian signal features. This project required significant coordination with the maintaining agency due to limitations with the existing signal equipment
which required special signal design and vast knowledge of the traffic control cabinet and controller system as this project required retrofitting the existing ASCT system.
Responsible for developing the signal retiming recommendations for two city signals for the Weekday and Weekend AM, MD, PM, and PM-Off peak periods. He was also
responsible for performing the database conversions for the NEMA TS1 ecosystems to the NEMA ATC ecosystem along with bench testing, and supported with the field
integration of the NEMA ATC controllers and field implementation of the recommended signal timings. Erik inspected and verified that the Maintenance Contractor
properly removed the existing NEMA TS1 controller with proposed NEMA ATC controller, properly reconnected the MS connectors (A, B, C, and D as applicable),
tested field indications, and proper operation of signal controller.
