Submittal of Permit application package through the agencies with whom we will schedule pre -
application meetings to give them a better understanding of the project and avoid unnecessary
comments
Lighting
When designing bridges lighting, it is important to closely coordinate with staff at Miami -Dade County Traffic
Signals and Signs Division. It is important that lighting is designed per the Miami -Dade County Standards and
Criteria and the County Roadway Lighting Manual. The wrong approach is to assume that County has the same
lighting criteria and standards as FDOT. The County Roadway Lighting Manual has specific lighting criteria for
different classifications of roadways which is different than FDOT's lighting criteria. Lighting Plans must include
details from the County Roadway Lighting Manual. County has specific details for different types of service
points including those with GFI receptacles, variety of pole details, concrete slabs, foundation details, conduit
details, pull box details, details for underdeck lighting and pole cable distribution systems.
Public Involvement, and Community Awareness
Even though public involvement will be provided by the City internal Department of Public Information, we
understand the importance of a successful community awareness plan in every project. Our subconsultant MRG
public outreach staff will provide early and continuous coordination with the City PM to ensure businesses,
residents, and travelers are well informed of any upcoming work that will impact the community. Working
closely with the community in the development of construction plans for a new bridge is critical to the project's
success. Proactive public involvement with area residents, business owners, elected officials, special interest
groups and government agencies will be the primary objective of our public involvement team.
City of Sunny Isles Beach
Request for Qualifications No. 20-10-01
-27-
