(40, <br />Pop-up outreach activities attracted a lot of attention (and ideas) trorn local scnoai kids. <br />Stakeholder Meetings: The stakeholder meetings <br />were the first point of engagement. The meetings <br />provided the project team with a wide range of facts, <br />values and perspectives about the TCNO, the Re - <br />envisioning process and many other issues. <br />Meetings were held over the course of 2-1/2 <br />days with representatives from every residential <br />development in the Town Center area (e.g., <br />condominium board members, property managers, <br />owners and residents), business owners, landowners, <br />developers, community activists, residents outside <br />the district, staff, and elected officials. Approximately <br />30 individuals participated in these meetings. <br />Each meeting lasted between 30 minutes to an hour <br />and a half (depending on the number of people who <br />attended the meeting). A standard list of questions <br />was used to loosely guide the conversation. (See <br />Appendices D1 -D3 for details.) <br />Pop -Up Outreach Events: The pop-up activities <br />resulted from suggestions from several stakeholders <br />about ways to broaden the process to engage <br />those who may not normally get involved but who <br />nevertheless have a stake in the future of the area, <br />such as busy parents of young kids who cannot get to <br />meetings, seasonal residents who may not always be <br />attuned to local issues, and renters or local business <br />employees, who may not often feel included. Pop- <br />up outreach allowed the project team to reach these <br />community members in a fun, easy way. <br />Three (3) pop-up outreach activities were scheduled.' <br />The goal of these events was to reach beyond the <br />habitual formal meeting participants by going out to <br />meet and engage people informally in places where <br />they routinely gather in the community. <br />Two (2) events were conducted on the same date, a <br />few days prior to the programmed Listening Session. <br />3 The last pop-up outreach events, scheduled for after the Listening Session, had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 lockdown. <br />re -Envisioning the Town Center North Overlay 112/28/2020 59 <br />
