<br />City of Sunny Isles Beach |Request for Proposal No. 21-06-01 9 <br /> <br />SECTION 2 <br />SPECIAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS <br /> <br />2.1 BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: <br /> <br />The City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida (the “City”) occupies 1.78 square miles in the northeastern <br />corner of Miami-Dade County, the most populated county in the State of Florida. With an <br />estimated population of 23,253, Sunny Isles Beach ranks 15 in population amongst the 34 <br />municipalities in the County. The City is located on a barrier island bounded by the Atlantic Ocean <br />on the east and the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway on the west and has been developed <br />primarily for residential purposes. <br /> <br />Sunny Isles Beach is known as a coastal oasis with pristine beaches and eleven family-friendly <br />parks. With a strong focus on safety, community engagement and forward-thinking, the City of <br />Sunny Isles Beach is a prosperous and collaborative municipality offering an assortment of <br />programs and services primarily for its residents. The City is committed to bridge building with <br />the multicultural community members who call the City of Sunny Isles Beach their home. <br /> <br />The City is seeking proposals from qualified firms (the “Proposer”) with successful experience in <br />design, development, construction, management and operation of high quality outdoor experiential <br />activations (“Activation(s)” or “Experiential Activation(s)” or “Project(s)”. This Activation would be <br />for our premier park, Gateway Park, located at 151 Sunny Isles Boulevard, which features the <br />following amenities; <br /> <br />• Covered parking garage with 358 parking spaces (plus 8 ADA spaces) <br />• Approximately 7,500 square feet of open plaza (pavers), with seating areas, and landscape <br />• Approximately 50,000 square feet of fenced-in park, including playground, walkways, seating, <br />open lawn, and performance stage <br />o Open lawn (with St. Augustine grass) is approximately 27,000 square feet <br /> <br />The Activation would be for no more than 4 months, from November 15th, 2021 through March <br />15th, 2022, and should consider both daytime and nighttime installations, that can be adapted for <br />both general use, and special events. <br /> <br />Proposer must provide the following: <br /> <br />• Listing of all components for the Activation will include (e.g. visual decoration, activities, food <br />and beverage, etc.) along with draft design layout. <br />• Fee Structure for all activities/components of the Activation, <br />o Including a discounted rate for City residents <br />o Including proposed revenue sharing structure with the City <br />• Timeline for Project execution, from design, through development, installation, and breakdown. <br />• Qualifications for Personnel coordinating Project <br />• Recruitment, training, and evaluation measures for personnel working in day-to-day operations <br />of the Activation
