c ROHL <br />GLOBAL NETWORKS <br />f. We, once again, have taken the liberty of referencing multiple photographs which <br />indicate the complexity of the raceway installation and an example of the significant <br />unforeseen obstructions encountered during the execution of the work. The route along <br />the Atlantic corridor is significantly newer than Collins Avenue, however similar <br />complexities were encountered in addition to significant unchartered duct banks <br />installed prior to formal planning and public work permits were required. Measures <br />incorporated to obviate the impact of the unforeseen encounters were the utilization of <br />alternate excavation methods including smaller equipment, hand excavation and <br />demolition, utilizing ground penetrating radar, and spot excavations to identify potential <br />problem areas. No active utilities were disrupted during this project execution. <br />Alternative backfill methods including substantial use of flowable fill were incorporated <br />in the process. <br />4 <br />
