The building also includes 21,790 SF for crime scene investigations, <br />9,275 SF for forensics and evidence storage, and 2,860 SF for vehicle processing. The completed project accommodates the police substation, crime lab and evidence storage, logistics and utility storage, <br />public safety administrative offices, juvenile lounge, report writing area, interview rooms, short term holding area, locker room <br />/ shower, public lobby, public restrooms, general storage, general use community room and surface lot to stage various public <br />safety specialty vehicles. The design team is working with TPD to ensure the design of the new facility will <br />accommodate the department’s 936 sworn officers and support staff as well as identify opportunities to maximize space and <br />allow for future growth. <br />I <br />(1) TITLE AND LOCATION (CITY AND STATE) <br />SUNRISE PUBLIC SAFETY COMPLEX <br />SUNRISE, FL <br />(2) YEAR COMPLETED <br />PROFESSIONAL SERVICES2009 CONSTRUCTION 2011 <br />(3) BRIEF DESCRIPTION (BRIEF SCOPE, SIZE, COST, ETC) AND SPECIFIC ROLE X CHECK IF PROJECT PERFORMED WITH CURRENT FIRM <br />ROLE: Principal In Charge - ADG provided a detailed spatial needs assessment, master planning, cost estimating, design, and <br />construction administration services. Police divisions within the complex included administration, internal affairs, records, <br />detective’s division, crime scene unit, crime analysis unit, property and evidence, victim advocacy program, patrol, SWAT, and <br />crisis negotiation unit. The facility design also included an evidence processing lab, located on the second floor across from the <br />evidence drop and storage area. Our scope includes a review of the spatial needs assessment, site identification and analysis, master planning, <br />conceptual design renderings, interior design, full design and bidding documents, cost estimates, and construction oversight. <br />The design focuses on enhancing the surrounding neighborhood to integrate TPD’s Community Oriented Policing Philosophy. 25
