7 SECTION D Project Approach and Understanding RFQ # 21-11-01 PROFESSIONAL PLANNING AND ZONING CONSULTING SERVICES, CIVIL AND TRAFFIC ENGIEERING Any regulatory requirements with which the City needs to comply can be undertaken by Corradino. Serving as planning directors and staff in many municipalities, we are fully aware of these and track them. We often create checklists for development review to streamline the review and approval of projects. Corradino is expert at reviewing urban design plans and concept diagrams, evaluating open space planning and analysis, community planning working with design guidelines, streetscape design, renderings to visualize future projects, cost estimating, producing construction documents as well as making presentations to elected officials, City staff and the public. To supplement our team, we have partnered with Curtis + Rogers to provide services in landscape architecture, J. Bonfill and Associates to assist with surveying work and reviews, CTS Engineering, Inc. to assist with traffic counts and supplement traffic engineering, as needed, Rachel Streitfeld for land use law and sustainability planning and MCHP COLAB assisting with planning and urban design. We work nearly 100% for the public sector -- we have no conflicts in reviewing an application. Corradino has produced municipal traffic impact analyses, multimodal master plans and long-range planning studies for some of the most innovative cities in Florida and has won awards for its work. Corradino’s modelers are the authors and maintainers of the Miami-Dade County Transportation Planning Organization’s Long-Range Transportation Plan Model. The firm’s engineers are expert at roadway design from local traffic calming projects to major expressway interchanges. Once roadway projects are planned, approved, designed, and bid, we can act as your representative in managing the construction. Corradino maintains excellent relationships with staff, directors, and elected officials at all the state and local agencies with which the City would need to coordinate in planning and implementing projects within its boundaries. This is an added value very few firms can cite. Work will begin upon receipt of a written notice to proceed. It is preferred to have frequent project meetings with the City’s Project Manager, to ensure a line of communication is open and ensure the project progresses smoothly toward an on-time and on-budget completion. As individual work assignments progress, our Project Manager (Joe Corradino) and Technical Task Manager as the Points of Contact (POC), will handle the day-to-day operations of the assignment working closely with the City’s Project Manager. The Technical Task Manager will collect all data, assign/instruct all analysis and design activities, arrive at conclusions and recommendations. The Technical Manager will work closely with our overall Project Manager (Joe Corradino) on each level of the project to ensure that an on-going level of quality control is maintained. ►Schedule & Budget Control Our management team is designed to assure all tasks are completed on-time and within budget, and that all contract requirements are met. The project team will be split into functional disciplines, led by a discipline manager, as per our organization chart presented later in this proposal. Our Project Manager will convene a weekly meeting of all involved personnel. The agenda for these meetings will first address the status of the items on the next deliverable, per discipline. Next, an update on issues or concerns from each discipline will be provided. This keeps all on the project informed of its status and allows issues to be communicated to identify potential problems before they arise. The information shared will be communicated once per week at a regularly scheduled time, from Corradino’s Project Manager to Sunny Isles Beach’s Project Manager. Administratively, invoices will be submitted monthly, in conjunction with a project status report, indicating the percentage of work completed by task. The report will be supported by individual time sheets and adhere to all terms specified by the contract. The Corradino/Sunny Isles Beach team should have formal meetings related to the tasks’ progress at multiple times during the effort. Typically, these would be scheduled two weeks before the beginning and ending of each task. The purpose would be to confirm the work to be done, time frames and approaches of upcoming tasks, and to review and approve the work produced in ending tasks.
