8
SECTION D Project Approach and Understanding
RFQ # 21-11-01 PROFESSIONAL PLANNING AND ZONING CONSULTING SERVICES, CIVIL AND TRAFFIC ENGIEERING
►QA/QC PROCESS
Our QA/QC processes are built into our schedules and
budgets. Each project has a designated QA/QC officer who
is separate from the Project Manager, and work order
Technical Task Manager. Documents are reviewed on
several levels, at set intervals related the specific tasks.
These reviews include, but are not limited to, quality of
overall document – including visual presentation, clarity
of communication, technical accuracy of data and analysis,
and adherence to answering the needs posed by visioning
and specific project questions and goals.
All Corradino’s technical work will be reviewed by
professionals, other than the author of that work, so that
administrative and technical errors can be eliminated.
Corradino will also review the work of any deliverable
produced by subconsultants to ensure that a quality
product is being delivered to the City regardless of the
author. All team members, including subconsultants, will
be required to follow Corradino’s proven quality control
plan for each item produced. This process ensures the firm
keeps its projects moving on schedule and within budget,
while minimizing any disruption.
The following provides for our area specific approaches to
planning, traffic engineering, and roadway design.
► Site Master Planning, Analysis and Design/Planning and Urban Design
At the core of Corradino’s planning practice is our
ability to listen, evaluate, and translate. We are experts
at communicating complex engineering and planning
principles in understandable terms for the best decision(s)
to be made. Public engagement is key -- it begins with
developing and verifying the vision and direction of
the community. Concurrently, data providing scientific
background to the analysis is collected and utilized to
define the neighborhoods/areas potentially impacted
by a project(s). In our experience, positive movement in
project development, as plans are molded from concepts
to vetted and embraced outcomes, begins with community
dialogue. Our staff has the ability to assist the community
develop a full understanding of the issues and concepts of
a proposed project(s). We know that real progress is made
where credibility and consensus are established.
Corradino uses an interdisciplinary approach to address
principles of urban design, looking at the scale, sense
and flow of the place, and the connections of its pieces,
people, buildings, and transportation/transit, in relation to
each other to create an identity of place that blend scale,
form, and human behavior into a plan which recognizes the
connections inherent in development.
►Landscape Architecture and Design
Our team’s landscape architecture and design approach
emphasizes creativity and innovation within the
context of rational problem solving. Cultural, economic,
environmental, social forces, sustainability and climate
change dynamics are strong determinants of design. This
approach is founded on a collaborative approach which
stresses interaction among the client’s representatives,
fellow design professionals and our team. The best designs
result from an interactive process of artistic creativity,
knowledge, passion and experienced judgment.
Our team’s inspiration for design expression grows from an
appreciation of context, and an understanding of program.
Context includes the influences of a physical setting, the
history and culture of an area, and opportunities and
