BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size, and cost)

Rooted in the 2025 Downtown Miami Master Plan, Biscayne Green is a long-term vision to redesign and repurpose Biscayne
Boulevard to include a pedestrian promenade, enhancing pedestrian safety and connectivity in Downtown. This vision aims to
minimize the barrier effect Biscayne Boulevard represents to the community and enhance the connections to Bayfront Park and
the Biscayne Bay to make downtown a more walkable, accessible, and connected place. As a recipient of the 2015 Knight Cities
Challenge Grant awards from the Knight Foundation and the Public Space Challenge from the Miami Foundation, the Miami DDA
led the implementation of Biscayne Green, a month-long public space intervention showcasing the potential of a redesigned
Biscayne Blvd through downtown Miami into a world-class pedestrian promenade. The installation showcased context-sensitive
design improvements and transformed parking lots into active public space programmed with interactive elements and events for
the enjoyment of residents and visitors. This project helped minimize the barrier effect the boulevard represents to the community
to make downtown a more walkable, accessible, and connected place. With over 30 events in 20 days and an estimate of over
20,000 visitors, this project created an experience for everyone, engaging the Downtown Miami community to build the
necessary support to implement the long-term vision. Fabian De La Espriella acted as project manager and lead planner/urban
designer on the Biscayne Green Tactical Urbanism Installation prior to founding Urbe Studio.

Following the success of the temporary public space intervention, we helped the City of Miami and the Miami DDA secure
funding in the amount of $422,000 from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) through a Tran sportation Alternatives
Grant to conduct a lane elimination study to keep this project moving forward. Beyond the lane elimination analysis, future s teps
for these agencies include securing funding options to advance design development and finance future c onstruction.

25.
