<br />City of Sunny Isles Beach |Request for Proposal No. 22-03-01 9 <br /> <br />SECTION 2 <br />SPECIAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS <br /> <br />2.1 BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The City of Sunny Isles Beach occupies 1.78 square miles in the northeastern corner of Miami- <br />Dade County, the most populated county in the State of Florida. With an estimated population of <br />22,348 people, the City ranks 15th in population amongst the 34 municipalities in the County. The <br />City is located on a barrier island bound by the Atlantic Ocean on the east and the Atlantic <br />Intracoastal Waterway on the west. The City has been developed primarily for residential purposes. <br />Recognizing a need in the community for a dedicated facility to host adult and senior programs, <br />the City Commission directed the development of Gateway Center. Built with a world class vision, <br />innovative technology, and accessible amenities, the Center is the City’s new state-of-the-art <br />recreation and rental facility. <br /> <br />The aesthetic of Gateway Center is emblematic of Sunny Isles Beach’s oceanfront location with <br />blue, green and coral colors dispersed throughout. Gateway Center incorporates cutting edge <br />technology into every aspect while optimizing modern décor to cultivate a welcoming and safe <br />atmosphere. A high-end audio/visual system connects sound and music throughout the facility in <br />the hallways, rooms, and the exterior, and Hearing Loop technology is built into the floor of the <br />ballroom and fitness room to provide listening assistance to those in need. <br /> <br />Amenities include: <br /> <br />• Fitness room (1,300 sq ft) with wood floors, mirrored walls, telescoping door, drop down <br />screen with projector, Bluetooth and WIFI. <br />• Large Classroom (846 sq ft) with ceramic tile floors, TV Screen with Bluetooth and wireless <br />presentation available. <br />• Catering Kitchen (1,016 sq ft) <br />• Small Classroom (661 sq ft) <br />• Ballroom (3,746 sq ft) with carpet floors, floor-to-ceiling glass walls <br />• Exterior Patio (2100 sq ft) with tile floors, <br />• Restrooms for women and men with multiple stalls and single ADA restroom. <br />• Parking (358 total, including 8 ADA spaces) <br />• Elevators <br />• ADA accessible <br /> <br />2.2 PURPOSE <br /> <br />The City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, (the "City") a municipality located in Miami-Dade County, <br />Florida, is requesting proposals for Event Management Services ("Services"), from qualified and <br />experienced professional Firms (“Firms” / “Proposers” / “Bidder” / “Vendor” / “Contractor) to <br />provide turn-key event management operations of an existing City facility located at Gateway <br />Center, in accordance with the specifications, conditions, and other provisions of this RFP. <br /> <br />
