BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size, and cost) <br />Project Description: In addition to serving as in house planning staff for the City of <br />Homestead, the Corradino Group, Inc. (Corradino) is also tasked with completing <br />Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use Plan Map amendments, the rezoning of City- <br />owned properties in Downtown Homestead and, amending the zoning code to <br />allow for certain public and retail/entertainment facilities. Additionally, Corradino <br />has worked for the City of Homestead since the mid-1990s having completed <br />several planning and engineering studies in and around the City including a city- <br />wide gateway signage project, the Transportation Element to the Comprehensive <br />Plan and the design of the Campbell Drive/Florida’s Turnpike interchange. In 2007, <br />the firm was hired to its current General Planning Services Contract. <br />In this contract Corradino serves in several capacities. Joseph M. Corradino, AICP <br />has served as the City’s Development Services Director. In this position, he oversees <br />the Business Licensing Division, the Planning and Zoning Division and the Building <br />Division. This Department has a combined budget of nearly $2 million. The per year <br />average for issuance of permits is nearly 5,000, and over 13,000 inspections, <br />generating nearly $4 million in revenue. The Department renews nearly 2,500 <br />business licenses and processes nearly 80 public or administrative hearings <br />annually. Corradino’s staff works seamlessly with City staff and management to <br />assure that this very important department is able to move development forward <br />in an efficient and effective manner, and that applicants are adhering to the City’s <br />code. Corradino provides planners to review public hearing applications as part of <br />the City’s cost recovery process. In this capacity, Corradino’s Planners review all <br />manner of applications including site plans, variances, certificates of use, special <br />exceptions, planned unit developments and traffic impact analyses. In addition, <br />Corradino handles special projects that have included annexation analyses, zoning <br />code chapter revisions, a public art master plan, comprehensive plan amendments, <br />and zoning and land use map changes. Through this contract, Corradino also <br />provides for annual updates for the City’s CRS system and, as needed services for <br />row and easement acquisition. <br />25.
