EXTERNALLY ILLUMINATED SIGN —Any sign illuminated by shielded electric lights (including reverse channel lighting and back- lighting), which are not part of the sign. All externally illuminated signs shall have the illumination device fully screened from view. Proposed: Back -lit channel letter signs on existing wall structures. 2. § 265-63.1 Sign Ordinance Variance § 265-63.1(C) Review by the City Commission. The application for a variance may be granted if the City Commission finds: (1) The variance is not contrary to the public interest; (2) Special conditions and circumstances do not result from actions of the applicant; (3) A literal enforcement of the provisions of this chapter may result in unnecessary hardship. STAFF FINAL ANALYSIS Based on the above review, the application is complete and consistent with the City's Comprehensive Plan and generally consistent with the City's Land Development Regulations. The variance standards pursuant to Section 265-63.1(C) of the City Code have been met and the proposed signage is minimal. Staff has reviewed the variance application and is submitting this application for your review with the following conditions stipulated below. VII. CONDITIONS If the City Commission approves this application, the application will be subject to the following conditions.
