All fibers in the cables shall be usable fibers and shall be free of surface imperfections and occlusions, in order to meet or exceed all the optical, mechanical, and environmental requirements contained in this specification. All cables shall be free of material or manufacturing defects and dimensional non-uniformity that would: • Interfere with the cable installation employing accepted cable installation practices. • Degrade the transmission performance and environmental resistance after installation. • Inhibit proper connection to interfacing elements. • Otherwise yield an inferior product.
