Results of the project: The Deering Estate at <br />Cutler Management Plan was completed on time <br />and within budget and was approved by State <br />of Florida DEP in June, 2013. The plan has been <br />used to help secure over $11 million in donations <br />and additional funding for implementation <br />.j <br />projects. <br />Miami -Dade County Leisure Interest <br />Survey <br />1. The client: Miami -Dade County Parks, <br />Recreation and Open Spaces Department <br />H. Description of work: AECOM worked with <br />Miami -Dade County to conduct a county -wide <br />needs assessment as a follow-up to a parks and <br />open spaces master plan completed in 2008 by <br />AECOM.which developed "A 50 Year, Unifying <br />Vision for a Livable, Sustainable Miami -Dade <br />County "Through the Parks Window". <br />Documentingthe recreational needs and <br />priorities of Miami -Dade County, a county <br />of over 2.6 million residents, required a <br />detailed approach to sample over 70 distinct <br />neighborhoods. This survey constitutes one <br />of the largest statistically valid park and <br />recreation focused survey over conducted in the <br />United States. <br />iii. Total dollar value of the contract: $275,000 <br />iv. Contract duration: October, 2012—June, 2015 <br />v. Results of the project: The initial recreation <br />interests survey was completed in September <br />2014. Afollow-up task order included the <br />development and administration of follow-up <br />survey based on funding options available and <br />supported by residents. The follow-up survey <br />was completed in July, 2015. <br />Miami Beach Resilience Project <br />The client: City of Miami Beach <br />ii. Description of work: In response to sea level rise <br />and increasing flooding, City wide strategies are <br />being evaluated to mitigate flooding of public' <br />and private property. In conjunction with and <br />in support ofthe.public works Flood Mitigation <br />Program, a City wide Resiliency Plan is being <br />prepared focused on short, mid and longterm <br />protection of key assets from known climate <br />related hazards via risk and vulnerability <br />assessment focused on the built environment. <br />Detailed cost/benefit and ROI analysis of <br />mitigation measures and adaptive strategies will <br />be performed as the basis for the development <br />of a resource tool box of adaptive measures <br />which will inform a phased implementation <br />plan while offering the maximum flexibilityto <br />respond to changing conditions. <br />The resilience study also included the <br />development of policy changes for new <br />construction and major renovation, through <br />an in depth zoning code, building code and <br />public works manual review which identified <br />opportunities for integration of resilience <br />for buildings and critical infrastructure. <br />Recommended code changes were evaluated <br />with a systems based approach considering <br />unintended consequences and with vetting from <br />City staff and .key stakeholders. <br />M.
