<br />City of Sunny Isles Beach |Request for Qualifications No. 22-06-01 9 <br /> <br />SECTION 2 <br />SPECIAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS <br /> <br />2.1 PURPOSE: <br /> <br />The City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida (the “City”) a municipality located in Miami-Dade <br />County, Florida, seeks to retain qualified and experienced Professional Consulting Firms <br />(“Firm” and/or “Consultant”) to provide continuing landscape architectural services <br />(“Services”) pursuant to Florida Statutes 287.055, Consultants’ Competitive Negotiation Act. <br />The City shall have the option to pre-qualify one or more qualified firm(s) to provide such <br />services on an as-needed basis. No minimum amount of such professional services or <br />compensation will be assured to any of the firms retained, and the City shall not be prevented <br />in any manner from retaining other firms in its sole discretion to perform any such work. The <br />City may endeavor to rank and award up to three (3) firms for this discipline. As each project <br />task is identified, selected firms within the required discipline(s) may be requested to submit <br />specific qualifications for the given task. Selection shall be to the most qualified firm for a <br />particular task. Firms providing professional services under continuing contracts shall not be <br />required to bid against one another. The Firm must have licensed architects on staff with <br />knowledge of all applicable Federal, State and County standards and requirements needed to <br />develop design plans, specifications, cost estimates, site inspections and project management <br />as applicable. <br /> <br />A “continuing contract” is a contract for professional services entered into in accordance with <br />all the procedures of Section 287.055, Florida Statutes, between an agency and a firm <br />whereby the firm provides professional services to the agency for projects in which the <br />estimated construction cost of each individual project under the contract does not exceed $4 <br />million, for study activity if the fee for professional services for each individual study under <br />the contract does not exceed $500,000, or for work of a specified nature as outlined in the <br />contract required by the agency, with the contract being for a fixed term or with no time <br />limitation except that the contract must provide a termination clause. <br /> <br />2.2 NON-MANDATORY VIRTUAL PRE-PROPOSAL CONFERENCE: <br /> <br />A virtual non-mandatory pre-proposal conference is scheduled for the time and location <br />shown herein on FRIDAY, JUNE 17, 2022 AT 3:00 PM Eastern Time (US and Canada). It is not <br />mandatory that Firms attend the pre-proposal conference. No claim of ignorance by the firm <br />of conditions that exist, or that may hereinafter exist as a result of failure to make the <br />necessary examinations or investigations or failure to fulfill in every detail the requirements <br />of the contract documents, will be accepted as basis for varying the requirements of the City
