Tony Melton is a civil engineer experienced in transportation engineering. He has managed numerous high-profile projects for state and local departments of transportation, from concept through final construction. His expertise encompasses urban and multi-lane highway projects, limited access highways, interchange projects, bridge inspection and design, maintenance of traffic (MOT), quality control (QC), value engineering (VE), and constructability review. Tony has several Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) certifications, including advanced MOT/TTC, value engineering, and pavement design, and managed many multi-million-dollar FDOT design-build, road reconstruction, resurfacing, and traffic control projects.
RELEVANT PROJECT EXPERIENCE
Broward County Pompano Park Place Racetrack Road, Pompano Beach, FL: KEITH is providing roadway design, geospatial engineering, traffic engineering, and landscape architecture services for Broward County for this Surtax complete streets project. The design of Pompano Park Place from Powerline Road to Cypress Road project consists of adding bike lanes and sidewalk/ADA improvements along Pompano Park Place to provide multimodal transportation options. The project includes widening, milling and resurfacing of the existing pavement, signalization, and lighting improvements as well as
railroad coordination. Cost: $321,902.00
Dixie Highway Segment 1 Improvements, Pompano Beach, FL: GIS tasks include converting test hole information collected in the field into data points using ArcGIS Pro. A dashboard displaying the test hole data was created to be shared with potential clients. The dashboard allows clients to view the test hole data online using a link. KEITH services include transportation engineering, subsurface utility engineering, survey, and construction
engineering inspection. Cost: $411,310.00
Equestrian Center Arena Upgrade, Parkland, FL: As part of the City of Parkland's continuing services contract with KEITH, the team has been tasked to provide civil engineering and survey services including a topographic survey of the 300' x 170' and 280' x 140' arenas along with the surrounding areas and utilities. Boring tests, construction documents including paving, grading, and drainage plans (anticipated to consist of catch basins, pipes, swales, and/or dry retention areas), erosion control plans in compliance with Generic Permit for Stormwater Discharge from Large and Small Construction Activities through FDEP, a demolition plan, cost estimation, permitting, bidding, and final documentation are also
provided. Cost: $23,300.00
SR A1A Improvements Pompano Beach, Pompano Beach, FL: This project consists of streetscape improvements along SR A1A from Sunset Lane to Hillsboro Inlet. The streetscape improvements include the addition of landscaped medians, widened sidewalks where right-of-way is available, street lighting, and landscape improvements. KEITH services consist of survey, subsurface utility engineering, civil engineering, traffic engineering, transportation engineering, landscape architecture, and construction engineering inspection for the proposed improvements. During early project coordination, it was determined that FDOT had an overlapping resurfacing project with City of Pompano Beach planned project. KEITH coordinated to have the FDOT funds transferred to the City of Pompano Beach to increase the construction budget on the City's
project. Cost: $1,312,669.00
Terramar Park Fence and Dugout Replacement, Parkland, FL: As part of KEITH's continuing services contract with the City of Parkland, KEITH was tasked to provide civil engineering services including construction documents, paving, grading, and drainage plans, erosion control plans, a demotion plan, and permitting, bidding, and selection assistance. Construction program management services included construction observation for engineering certification, shop drawing reviews, periodic site visits, as-built review, and final
inspections. Cost: $24,200.00
