A primary goal of the park master plan and design was to provide an
interactive program for visitors. The approved development program for the revitalized
park included two playgrounds, a restroom pavilion, picnic shelters, an interactive water
feature, a 15-foot-wide waterfront promenade and a new stair tower to connect the site to
the bridge leading over to the City’s beach front area. Since the City had limited intracoastal
waterfront access, one of the primary goals for the park’s redevelopment was to increase
public access to the water. This was accomplished by incorporating a small marina along
the north shoreline of the park and a floating dock along the east shoreline for safely
launching paddle boards and kayaks into the water.
2017 Project of the Year ASCE Florida - Broward County Branch
Client:
City of Deerfield Beach
Services:
Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Permitting, Estimating, Scheduling, Construction Management, Public Outreach, Civil Engineering, Master Planning
