These can include meetings with other City
departments, agencies or public meetings. We also are
practiced in preparing and delivering presentations to
City departments and Commission meetings for different
types of projects.
City of Sunny Isles Beach Pelican Community Park -
A three-acre active park site, for which Miller Legg
managed landscape architecture, irrigation, engineering,
surveying and architecture designs for a baseball field,
recreation building, playground structure, gymnasium,
and related site amenities within the City of Sunny Isles
Beach. The project management team at Miller Legg
received recognition from the City for their involvement
in the design completion of the park. In addition, Miller
Legg provided construction observation services. In
addition, we also provided grant assistance to secure a
Florida Recreational Development Assistant Program
(FRDAP) grant for $200,000. FRDAP is a competitive
grant program that provides financial assistance to
local governments for development or acquisition of
land for public outdoor recreational purposes. Award of
Merit, American Society of Landscape Architects, Florida
Chapter, 2009
City of Miami Beach 20th Street & Sunset Drive Pocket
Park - Under our Continuing Services Contract with
the City of Miami Beach, Miller Legg was awarded
an assignment to provide survey, civil, geotechnical,
electrical, structural engineering and landscape
architecture services for the design, permitting and
construction of a new ADA-accessible .33-acre pocket
park at 20th Street and Sunset Drive. The firm prepared
a boundary and topographic survey, assisted with the
planning of key program elements and performed
schematic design, design development, construction
document, bidding and construction tasks. The design
incorporates Crime Prevention Through Environmental
Design principles. Arborist and irrigation design services
were also furnished for this project.
City of Coral Gables War Memorial Youth Center -This
City of Coral Gables 7-acre War Memorial Youth Center
in Miami Dade County represents a living memorial to
Coral Gables World War II veterans. Miller
Legg was responsible for the landscape architecture, civil
engineering design and permitting of the improvement
program. Specific improvements included athletic field
drainage, re-sodding with Bermuda “Celebration” turf
and irrigation design. The irrigation system ties into
a non-potable well system. Drainage improvements
consist of subsurface field improvements that integrate
with the existing exfiltration and subsurface drainage
systems. Additional services provided include: design
development, final construction documents, and
construction administration.
City of Tamarac Roadway Landscape Master Plan
Update: Miller Legg provided the City of Tamarac with
an update to its citywide Roadway Landscape Master
