His 35+/-year career has <br />concentrated on planning, infrastructure, <br />open space, transportation and <br />redevelopment, principally in South <br />Florida. <br /> <br />Mr. Kroll's diverse professional <br />experience has led to projects that <br />successfully integrate environmental, <br />planning and landscape architectural <br />services. Under his leadership, Miller <br />Legg develops project solutions that <br />respond to the natural environment, <br />respect the social fabric and create <br />sustainable aesthetic spaces. <br /> <br />Relevant Project Experience: <br /> <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach Pelican <br />Community Park - A three-acre active <br />park site, for which Miller Legg managed <br />landscape architecture, irrigation, <br />engineering, surveying and architecture <br />designs for a baseball field, recreation <br />building, playground structure, <br />gymnasium, and related site amenities <br />within the City of Sunny Isles Beach. <br />The project management team at Miller <br />Legg received recognition from the City <br />for their involvement in the design <br />completion of the park. In addition, <br />Miller Legg provided construction <br />observation services. In addition, we <br />also provided grant assistance to secure <br />a Florida Recreational Development <br />Assistant Program (FRDAP) grant for <br />$200,000. FRDAP is a competitive grant <br />program that provides financial <br />assistance to local governments for <br />development or acquisition of land for <br />public outdoor recreational purposes. <br />Award: Award of Merit, American Society of <br />Landscape Architects, Florida Chapter, 2009 <br /> <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach Gwen <br />Margolis Park and Pelican <br />Community Park Artificial Turf - <br />The project consisted of the <br />reconstruction of existing natural turf <br />fields at Pelican Community Park and <br />Senator Gwen Margolis Park in the City <br />of Sunny Isles Beach with artificial turf. <br />Miller Legg provided the preparation and <br />permitting of drainage plans to collect <br />under the new drain systems installed as <br />part of the project, as well as surveying <br />services. In addition, construction <br />observation was provided to verify <br />compliance with the plans and for the <br />certification of the project through <br />regulatory agencies. <br /> <br />City of Miami Beach 20th Street & <br />Sunset Drive Pocket Park - Under <br />our Continuing Services Contract with <br />the City of Miami Beach, Miller Legg was <br />awarded an assignment to provide <br />survey, civil, geotechnical, electrical, <br />structural engineering and landscape <br />architecture services for the design, <br />permitting and construction of a new <br />ADA-accessible .33-acre pocket park at <br />20th Street and Sunset Drive. The firm <br />prepared a boundary and topographic <br />survey, assisted with the planning of key <br />program elements and performed <br />schematic design, design development, <br />construction document, bidding and <br />construction tasks. The design <br />incorporates Crime Prevention Through <br />Environmental Design (CPTED) <br />principles. Arborist and irrigation design <br />services were also furnished for this <br />project. <br /> <br />Palm Beach Gardens Tennis Center <br />- The City of Palm Beach Gardens <br />planned for a new clubhouse at its <br />Tennis Center, a premier community <br />public 18-court tennis facility and <br />recipient of a 2014 US Tennis <br />Association National Outstanding Facility <br />Award. As part of the OLC architecture <br />team, Miller Legg provided civil and <br />landscape architecture design services <br />for the new 12,000 SF building.
