(CGA) was awarded a contract by the City
of Plantation to provide planning, design, and construction services for a complete re-
construction of Pine Island Park as part of the City's Parks Bond program. The major goals
of the design of this park were to significantly improve the drainage and playability of the
soccer fields, to enhance the experience of park users by providing new walkways, shaded
seating areas, and a main entrance courtyard, and to improve ADA accessibility. Therefore,
the proposed improvements to this highly used 24 -acre soccer park, include the removal
of the old existing parking lot, expansion and renovation of the new City -owned parking lot,
two (2) new Parks & Recreation buildings, and re -grading of the site to accommodate six (6)
natural grass soccer fields, one (1) main synthetic turf soccer field, and one (1) synthetic
turf goalie practice area, as well as extensive sidewalk, lighting, and drainage improvements
throughout the site. Some additional unique design features of the park include brick columns
and an arched entryway into the park, an open-air pavilion for trophy presentations and special
events, and a new, electronic messaging board and monument sign along Pine Island Road.
CGA provided surveying, site planning, civil engineering, electrical engineering, landscape
design, and irrigation design services for the project, as well as permitting and construction
administration. The park improvements was completed in June 2022.
City of Sunny Isles Beach j RFQ #22-06-01 1 Continuing Services for Landscape Architectural Services CCNA 24
