MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br />BETWEEN THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH AND <br />THE DADE COUNTY POLICE BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION <br />This Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") is entered into this 'T day of <br />rJ V h(?, , 2022, by and between the City of Sunny Isles Beach, hereafter <br />referred to as the "City", and the South Florida Police Benevolent Association, also <br />known as the Dade County PBA, hereafter referred to as the "PBA." The City and the <br />PBA are collectively referred to as the "Parties." <br />WHEREAS the City and the PBA are Parties to a Collective Bargaining <br />Agreement for the period of October 1, 2019, to September 30, 2022 ("CBA") which sets <br />forth the terms and conditions of employment for the City's bargaining unit members; <br />and; <br />WHEREAS the Parties acknowledge that Article 26, Promotion Procedures, of <br />the current Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Parties currently sets forth the <br />promotional testing process and eligibility criteria for Bargaining Unit Members, and; <br />WHEREAS the Parties desire to amend the current language of Article 26 to <br />reflect the promotional process be applicable to the rank of Sergeant, instead of to the <br />rank of Corporal. <br />NOW THEREFORE, the Parties agfee as follows: <br />1. The above recitals are true and correct and incorporated herein by reference. <br />2. The Parties further agree that Article 26, PROMOTION PROCEDURE, shall <br />be modified as follows I: <br />a) Section 1. Police officers with a minimum of four (4) years law enforcement <br />1 Struck through language reflects the agreed to deleted language.
