experience, the most recent two (2) years with the City of Sunny Isles Beach, shall be <br />eligible to take the examination for a promotion to the rank of Police Ger-per-al Sergeant. <br />b) Section 2. All promotions shall be in accordance with the current Police <br />Department Policy or as such Policy is subsequently amended by the City. Should the City <br />seek to change its promotional policy, the City will provide the PBA with a copy of the new <br />policy at least thirty (30) days prior to the effective date of such policy. The City will <br />announce promotional examinations at least thirty (30) days in advance of the assessment <br />process. The eligibility list shall be valid for up to one (1) year. The Police Chief has the <br />option to extend the eligibility list one more year. <br />c) Section 3. A candidate for promotion shall have the right to review the scored <br />elements of the Assessment process. <br />d) Section 4. In the event of a promotion, an employee will be placed in the next <br />highest step in the position to which they are promoted. In the event the increase in <br />salary is less than three percent (3%), the employee will be moved to the next highest <br />step in his/her promoted position, regardless of the percentage increase. <br />3. Other than as specifically set forth herein, this MOU does not modify the <br />4. This Memorandum of Understanding shall be effective upon the execution of <br />the agreement by all Parties listed below and after final approval/ratification by the <br />Sunny Isles Beach Commission.
