Pursuant to City of Sunny Isles Beach Code of Ordinances, Chapter 62, Section 62-1, "Exemptions fror <br />Competitive Bidding", purchases arising out of or because of emergencies which shall be defined as a <br />situation, occurrence or matter necessitating immediate or quick action and not permitting adequate <br />time to utilize the competitive bidding process. A written determination of the basis for the <br />emergency and for the selection of the particular contractor shall be included in the contract file. As <br />soon as practicable, a record of each emergency procurement shall be made and shall set forth the <br />contractor's name, the amount and type of the contract, a listing of the item(s) procured under the <br />contract, and the identification number of the contract file. <br />In accordance with the aforementioned City Code, the justification and records which form the basis <br />of the emergency procurement are included in contract file. <br />Pursuant to City of Sunny Isles Beach Code of Ordinances, Chapter 62, Section 62-12, "Waiver c <br />competitive bidding procedures", the City Commission may authorize the waiver of competitive <br />bidding procedures upon the recommendation of the City Manager that it is in the City's best interesl <br />to do so, to obtain goods and services which cannot be acquired through the normal purchasing <br />process due to insufficient time, the nature of the goods or services, or other factors. <br />FUNDING SOURCE: <br />Funds have been appropriated in account no. 300-5-5390-465012-80004. <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />Resolution <br />Quote - Anixter Inc. <br />Item Number: 101 <br />
