"Officials* <br />CERTIFICATE OF COUNTY CANVASSING BOARD <br />STATE OF FLORIDA <br />COUNTY OF MIAMI-DADE <br />We, the undersigned, County Court Judge SHELLEY J. KRAVITZ, <br />Chairperson, Board of County Commissioners, JOSE "PEPE" DIAZ, Member, and <br />Supervisor of Elections LESTER SOLA, Member, constituting the Board of County <br />Canvassers in and for said County, do hereby certify that we met on the 0 day of <br />November, A.D., 2008, and proceeded to publicly canvass the votes cast for the <br />charter amendment questions herein specified at the Sunny Isles Beach Special <br />Election held on the 4th day of November, A.D., 2008, as shown by the returns on file <br />in the office of the Supervisor of Elections. We do hereby certify from said returns as <br />follows: <br />Permission to Redraw Residential Voting Areas <br />by Ordinance Due to Increase in Population <br />The City Charter currently does not provide the City Commission with the authority to <br />redraw the boundaries of Residential Voting Areas due to increase in population. It is <br />proposed that the Charter be amended to permit the redrawing of the boundaries of <br />residential voting areas by Ordinance based on population growth. <br />Shall the above described amendment be adopted? <br />YES 3,362 votes <br />NO 1,308 votes <br />
