REASONS: The City provides free Community Shuttle Service 7 days per week with three lines runnin€ simultaneously for the convenience of residents and visitors. To efficiently and timely maintain essential public services, and understanding that the transit vehicle was needed as soon as possible to ensure the City had a sufficient number of vehicles to provide such shuttle service, staff solicited quotes from various dealerships for similar vans. The city issued PO # 23-00867 on February 14, 202--- for 02-for the purchase of said vehicle. Due to supply chain constraints and market volatility, Purchasing and Fleet found it in the city's best interest to waive bidding in the purchase of this Ford to avoid disrupting operations in the Public Works/Transportation department. Furthermore, various Ford dealerships emailed written responses to Purchasing stating they do not have inventory of new vans. According to one of the vendors, Forc will likely open the orders in late spring or early summer with a projected delivery time of 8-12 months. In accordance with Chapter § 62-12. - Waiver of Competitive Bidding Procedures - The Cit, Commission may authorize the waiver of competitive bidding procedures upon the recommendation of the City Manager that it is in the City's best interest to do so, to obtain goods and services which cannot be acquired through the normal purchasing process due to insufficient time, the nature of the Item Number: 10.1-1
