Kimley -Horn developed vertical and horizontal alignments roadway plans, providing
drainage design, signing and pavement markings, and signalization plans. The
project includes the reconstruction/widening of SW 216th Street from SW 127th
Avenue to SW 112th Avenue, and milling and resurfacing from SW 112th Avenue
to Florida's Turnpike. The project included a traffic analysis for the corridor and
design of a roundabout at SW 122nd Avenue.
General Engineering Services, Plantation, FL III
Kimley -Horn was selected as a general services consultant for the City of Plantation. As such, Kimley -Horn has worked closely
with the City's Engineering Department on numerous roadways, drainage, and community enhancement projects, as well as
traffic studies associated with the proposed improvements. Our services have included general planning to assist the City in
developing cost - effective streetscape and beautification approaches and a traffic calming program. We have also assisted the
City in implementing those visions with thorough, cost - effective projects. NW 70th Avenue is an example of a roadway, traffic,
lighting, landscaping, irrigation, and drainage design project, followed by construction phase services. As part of the community
enhancement process, coordination with agencies such as FDOT, South Florida Water Management District, and Broward County
was key to the overall success of the project. Kimley -Horn has relationships in place with those and numerous other agencies to
help streamline coordination efforts.
Roadway.. Traffic and Stormwater Improvements, Lauderdale Lakes, FL
Kimley -Horn is working with the City of Lauderdale Lakes and the Lauderdale Lakes CRA under a general services contract for
roadway, traffic, and stormwater improvements. To date, we have started several projects:
NW 29th St. Traffic Calming. Anticipating increased through traffic on NW 29th Street resulting from the construction of the
new Walmart on the west side of SR 7, the City contracted with Kimley -Horn to implement traffic calming measures at this
location. We completed a conceptual traffic calming layout for the Lauderdale Lakes CRA that serves as the basis for the
new design.
NW 21 st St. Improvements. Kimley -Horn is currently designing a
drainage system on NW 21st Street, from SR 7 to Willie Webb Park.
The City plans to add bicycle and pedestrian facilities on this roadway
segment; a profile correction is also intended for this segment. The
new drainage system is needed to accommodate these new facilities.
This new system will drain into the City's canal system.
NW 41 st St. Traffic Calming. The City plans to remove the existing
speed humps on NW 41st Street between SR 7 and NW 31st Avenue.
Without the speed humps in place, speeding is likely to be a concern.
Kimley -Horn is working with the City to install alternate traffic calming
measures.
Seacrest Neighborhood Improvement Program. Phase IV, Delray Beach, FL
Kimley -Horn prepared construction plans and specifications and provided bid phase services for Phase IV of the Seacrest
Neighborhood Improvement Program. The project included 51.5 million worth of improvements and upgrades to aging
infrastructure on 18 streets within the existing Seacrest neighborhood. The improvements and upgrades included abandonment
and relocation of existing two -inch water mains and service connections, and installation of 3,000 linear feet of four -inch to
eight -inch ductile iron potable water distribution mains and service connections. We also designed and installed 360 linear feet of
eight -inch ductile iron sanitary sewer mains with service connections, asphaltic concrete pavement overlays and reconstructions,
concrete sidewalks, traffic calming measures, stormwater drainage improvements, retention ponds, driveway replacements, swale
improvements, landscaping and irrigation, and associated miscellaneous improvements. We also acquired all necessary permits
from the Palm Beach County Health Department and South Florida Water Management District SFWMD.
