As the Village's third large Capital Improvement Project, Kimley -Horn assisted in developing a roadway restoration/resurfacing and drainage improvements project in a residential ® area including permitting, striping, and site restoration. Our team located proposed drainage infrastructure and provided ® cost - effective drainage improvements to meet stormwater management and environmental permitting requirements as well ® as minimize impacts to adjacent properties. Kimley -Horn provided construction phase services to expedite the project and to confirm the project was built in accordance with the design plans. Close coordination with residential property owners was ® required for this successful project. 0 Continuing Stormwater Services, Cutler Bay, FL Kimley -Horn developed a stormwater master plan to address flood protection activities for its residents and to protect the environmental quality of its canals. Kimley -Horn also developed a stormwater management report to assist the Town in creating a stormwater utility, which generates a dedicated stream of revenue to implement capital improvements and maintain an operation and maintenance program associated with the stormwater system. Kimley -Horn also developed the stormwater utility fee methodology and established the range of rates for the utility to implement improvements. The project tasks included compiling data, developing a stormwater master plan, developing a stormwater management report, and assisting the Town in joining the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) so the community has future access to federally- funded flood insurance. City of Homestead Community Redevelopment Consulting Services, Homestead, FL Kimley -Horn is working closely with the City of Homestead and the community with the hope that their work will be a catalyst for redevelopment in the area. The SW 4th Street neighborhood has traditionally been a minority community. The project was the site of what was once a bustling business district that included a great mixture of restaurants, jazz clubs, churches, etc. The residents want this area to be restored to its former glory. The first step in this plan is to revitalize a six -block area. A team from Kimley -Horn worked with the community to learn about the issues and concerns such as drainage problems, which contribute to flooding, broken sidewalks, safety concerns, and increased parking needs. We are redesigning the curb and gutter system to make it more efficient at handling runoff, thereby reducing problems with flooding. The City Commission and CRA Board have now adopted the comprehensive plan amendments and Neighborhood Plan implementing the form -based code provisions. Kimley -Horn has also developed a 24 -page desk reference in five -inch by eight -inch format and conducted a one -day training session to prepare City and CRA staff for implementation of the code. NE 2nd Avenue Reconstruction from NE 91st Street to NE 105th Street, Miami, FL Kimley -Horn developed vertical and horizontal alignments and streetscape and landscape plans, providing drainage design, signing and pavement markings, and signalization plans for a portion of the NE 2nd Avenue corridor. The project included the reconstruction/widening of NE 2nd Avenue from NE 94th Street to NE 103rd Street and areas of roadway milling and resurfacing at the beginning and end of the project. The project included a joint participation agreement with the Village of Miami Shores in which streetscape and landscape improvements were designed with the Village, who funded these improvements.
