Architectural, Landscape Architectural,
Engineering and Land Surveying Firms Only (CCNA)
® Resurfacing and Drainage Improvements, Federally Funded Design -Build Project. Kimley -Horn assisted the Town in
® obtaining over S600,000 in stimulus funding to construct this roadway and drainage improvement project that includes a
® portion of Miami Lakeway North between Celebration Point and Miami Lakes Drive and NW 153rd Street from Miami Lakeway
North to NW 60th Avenue. Prior to obtaining the stimulus funding, Kimley Horn assisted the Town in becoming Local Agency
[ Program (LAP) certified so that the Town would be eligible to obtain the stimulus funding. In order to meet stimulus funding
Pl
it
Et1
1
c'I
fl
CI
CI
FI
(:I
(;I
CI
t:l
CI
CI
requirements of shovel ready, the project had to be advertised as a
design - build. Kimley Horn developed the design criteria package in
compliance with Federal funding criteria. The design criteria package was
used for public advertisement and resulted in securing the stimulus funding
and award of the project to the current design -build team. The project
includes drainage system improvements such as new stormwater inlets, a
new outfall connection, exfiltration trench for water quantity and quality
treatment, new sidewalk, new pavement markings, and signage. Kimley -
Horn provided construction phase services to expedite the project and
confirm the project was built in compliance with the design criteria.
General Consulting Services and Stormwater Master Plan, Palmetto Bay, FL
Kimley -Horn is currently working with the Village of Palmetto Bay as a general consultant to
provide all types of engineering such as planning, general civil engineering, and transportation.
The Village of Palmetto Bay is a newly incorporated community that is currently evaluating the
condition of their infrastructure and developing a new vision for their community. The Village
has looked to Kimley -Horn to develop a stormwater master plan and associated stormwater
management plan to implement a stormwater utility and obtain ownership of the infrastructure.
The Village has also asked Kimley -Horn to develop a comprehensive plan as a foundation
and framework for the new municipality. The stormwater master plan required extensive
research of the community's roadways, utilities, and drainage patterns to understand the
condition of the infrastructure and stormwater management needs. As part of the stormwater
master plan, Kimley -Horn assisted the Village in developing a capital improvement program
® - to prioritize improvements based on flood management needs and associated costs. As part
of the stormwater management plan, Kimley -Horn helped the Village evaluate properties throughout the Village and developed
® associated utility rates to generate a dedicated revenue stream for the Village improvements. A critical part of the planning efforts
® was to assist the Village in joining the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). Joining the NFIP is required for the community
® to obtain federally funded flood insurance and be part of the Community Rating System to help reduce insurance rates for the
community. The Village also looked to Kimley -Horn for specific civil and traffic engineering expertise to help them implement their
® new community vision. Specific projects have included:
® SW 164th Street Roadway and Drainage Improvement Project
® Kimley -Horn assisted the Village with their first large roadway and
® drainage improvement project as a newly incorporated Miami -Dade
municipality. The project consisted of roadway restorationtresurfacing
® and drainage improvements in a residential area including new
drainage ouffalls, permitting, new sidewalk, and site restoration. Our
® team located proposed drainage infrastructure and provided an
evaluation of alternate ouff all opportunities to minimize existing utility
® conflicts, utilize property owned by the Village, and minimize impacts
® to adjacent properties. Kimley -Horn provided construction phase
® services to expedite the project and to confirm the project was built in
accordance with the design plans. Close coordination with residential
® property owners was required to minimize impacts to the community.
is RFO,. -0r
® OY2600IA40 Ssvry lslzxC.Caanmg RCesvudl5ervicvsr✓c
Kimley> »Horn
T r_
IV
General Consulting Services and Stormwater Master Plan, Palmetto Bay, FL
Kimley -Horn is currently working with the Village of Palmetto Bay as a general consultant to
provide all types of engineering such as planning, general civil engineering, and transportation.
The Village of Palmetto Bay is a newly incorporated community that is currently evaluating the
condition of their infrastructure and developing a new vision for their community.
