Upon receiving these approvals, Kimley -Horn then prepared conceptual plans for
the driveway cut, including location, utility relocation, and coordination with affected utilities. Permitting of the driveway connection
through all applicable permitting agencies is also being handled by Kimley -Horn.
Signal Warrant Analysis and FDOT Permitting Assistance for Signal at 182nd Street and Collins Avenue,
Sunny Isles Beach, FL
Kimley -Horn performed a signal warrant analysis at the intersection of 182nd Street and Collins Avenue in Sunny Isles Beach. This
proposed signal will serve the shopping center that will be served by the proposed new driveway that is the subject of this RFO.
We prepared a preliminary signal design and met with FOOT to discuss the need for this signal.
Traffic Circulation Analysis at Heritage Park, Sunny Isles Beach, FL
Kimley -Horn prepared a detailed analysis of traffic circulation conditions surrounding the new Heritage Park. Of particular concern
to the City and its residents was queuing on Collins Avenue, traffic operations on Gallahad Dade Boulevard, and the valet
circulation patterns of the nearby Ramada Resort on Collins Avenue. Kimley -Horn was able to provide an analysis that convinced
nearby property owners that the traffic circulation in the area would not be negatively affected.
Identification of Vehicular and Pedestrian Issues for the Proposed Sunny Isles Aquatic Center. Sunny Isles Beach, FL
Kimley -Horn prepared a study that analyzed access, circulation, and pedestrian safety issues at the proposed Sunny Isles Aquatic
Center.
Improvements to Congested Intersections, Miami -Dade County, FL
Kimley -Horn was retained by the Miami -Dade County Public Works Department (PWD) to perform traffic analyses and roadway
design services for many of the locations identified by local leaders as the top 25 congested intersections in the County. Kimley-
Horn studied intersections to identify the underlying cause of congestion, and then evaluated the benefits of recommended
improvements and identified additional improvements
(if necessary) to improve traffic flow. Our traffic
engineering and roadway design staff pooled resources
to help the PWD adhere to a rigorous schedule. We
developed a study template that could be utilized for
greater efficiency. Recommended traffic improvements
focused on short -term, but high- benefit improvements
such as median closures, turn lane improvements,
and lane configuration enhancements. Congested
intersections that were evaluated by the Kimley -Horn
team included:
Sunny Isles Causeway at NE 26th, 28th, and
29th Avenues (North Miami Beach)
NW 167th Street at NW 2nd Avenue (North
Miami Beach)
• William Lehman Causeway at Biscayne
Boulevard (Aventura)
RFQ„ -07
oyffi 1.14U sung seam Carcnvsq P. t.ioa S
Kimley »)Horn
2 -23
