Mohan Gopalakrishna, PE, PTOE Roadway Design Mr. Gopalakrishna has more than 20 years of engineering experience serving as a senior traffic specialist including traffic operations and safety studies, traffic signal design, signing /pavement marking design, and street lighting analysis and design. His traffic experience includes impact studies, traffic data collection, Intersection Assessments, Arterial Analysis Assessments, Signal Warrant Analysis, signal system retiming, Crash Analysis, Intersection Delay Study, Level of Service Analysis, Traffic Signal Optimization, safety studies, PD &E, Traffic Tech Memorandums and access management. He has extensive experience in design, production, and management of all phases of roadway projects including limited access highways and freeways design. He has managed traffic projects for FDOT Districts 1 through 7 and for Florida's Turnpike Enterprise with quality assurance/ quality control for design plans and calculations related to Lighting, Signals and Signing/ Pavement Marking. The projects include widening, 3R, design build and 3P projects, wherein he ensured that a good set of construction plans was provided to the contractor and was diligent in proactively communicating any outstanding issues with the CEI and the contractor. His project experience includes widening, 3R, design build and 3P projects. Over the past two decades, he has designed over 150 signals and over 400 miles of Signing- Pavement Marking /Lighting. He has provided technical support for transportation software distributed by McTrans, University of Florida and has published with the Transportation Research Board Committee. Key Projects Parking Garage 6 Traffic Study Florida International University (FIU) Performed a traffic analysis (for design year 2013) related to the proposed construction of the new Parking Garage no. 6 (PG6) located at the FIU Modesto A. Maidique Campus. The analysis involved evaluating the traffic impacts on the internal and external street network immediately adjacent to the proposed garage due to the revised traffic circulation and recommending improvements for any deficiencies in levels of service. SR 874 Corridor Kendall Drive to SR 826 MDX Mohan was Engineer of Record responsible for the MOT, signing/ pavement marking design and street lighting design /analysis of approximately 3.5 miles of the project. This project includes the lighting design and analysis, MOT and signing /pavement marking design from Kendall Drive to SR 826, as well as signal design at Kendall Drive. SW 147 Ave Improvements from SW 26 Street to SW 8 Street Miami -Dade County Parks & Recreation Engineer of Record responsible for the street lighting design and signing - pavement marking design of approximately one mile segment of roadway. This project included the design and analysis components connected with proposed widening from a 2 -lane to 4 -lane divided facility. Parking Garage 6 Civil Engineering Florida International University (FIU) Providing the engineering design services for Florida International University's (FIU) 2000 space mixed use Parking Garage No. 6 (PG6) on the Modesto Maidique campus in Miami. The design for this project includes the water, sewer, paving, grading, drainage, traffic and transportation design for this facility. Also the planning for a future express bus rapid transit hub is integrated into the site's design.
