C R A I G A S M I T H. C O M ARCHITECTURAL, LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURAL, ENGINEERING AND LAND SURVEYING FIRMS ONLY (CCNA) CAS PROPOSAL NO. 3161 Dear Selection Committee: For your consideration, Craig A. Smith & Associates, Inc. (CAS) is pleased to submit this proposal in response to your Request for Qualifications for Continuing Professional Services for Architectural, Landscape Architectural, Engineering and Land Surveying Firms Only (CCNA), specifically for the Engineering and Land Surveying categories. CAS, a local, traditional civil engineering, surveying, construction management and utility locating firm capable of providing the City of Sunny Isles Beach (City) with the specialized professional services and expertise in Engineering Design, including detailed engineering for the construction of roadways within state, county or local rights -of- way and similar facilities, park or park enhancement design, dock and seawall design, and storm drainage and other underground utility design; project programming and preparation of conceptual designs, preparation of construction contract drawings and specifications complying with the requirements of the authorities having jurisdiction; development of schedules for design and construction, preparation of estimated quantities, costs and bid forms; construction support services; storm water infrastructure and pump station evaluation and design; reports and analysis for compliance reports to government agencies including but not limited to USEPA, FDEP, Miami Dade County, DERM /RER; environmental assessments and testing, storm water system master planning; grant assistance and writing; project management; evaluation of bids as compared to project budget; respond to RFIs; attending meeting with City staff and presentations to City Commission; provide plans developed on AutoCAD's latest version, and copies of a reproducible hard copy and diskette of plans in the requested format shall be provided to the City; transportation planning and traffic engineer; parking studies, structural engineering; as well as, surveying, mapping and utility locates. CAS is a thirty -four (34) year established Civil Engineering, Utility Locating (SUE), Surveying, Construction Management and Grant Specialist firm. CAS has over forty (40) dedicated members of staff including five (5) Registered Professional Engineers, two (2) Engineering Interns, two (2) Registered Professional Surveyors, one (1) GIS Specialist and the balance of staff including technical CADD drafting personnel, certified field inspectors, utility locators, as well as competent administrative, clerical and accounting personnel, to provide the City with the expertise required to perform the duties requested. In addition to the traditional civil engineering and surveying services listed above, CAS brings unique and exclusive 3D underground mapping and utility locating capability that can save the City time and money. This technology is nonintrusive and saves dollars and reduction in the amount of soft -digs required.
