1 Sunny Isles Beach RFQ No. 14 -07 -02 Section 9: Approach & Methodology Landscape Architecture ORDA's knowledge of urban design and public spaces is vast and varied - as one of South Florida's long - est running landscape architecture and planning firms with thousands of acres of green space and hun- dreds of miles of streetscapes in our portfolio, we are experts in the design and craft of vibrant public spaces. Throughout our 40 year partnerships with local architects, engineers, horticulturists, and munici- palities we have been able to create successful, urban spaces for South Florida communities. Our most recent projects include the design of three community parks, entrance and beach pavilion for the Town of Golden Beach, an urban plaza and civic green for the Village of Palmetto Bay and a city center park for the City of Doral. Our goal is to design spaces that function, spaces that are memorable and spaces that cities are proud to call their own. H ;11 rI if I I ?I As urban designers and landscape architects, each of ORDA's designs for public realm projects rest up- on the building blocks of successful urban spaces. Context, scale, form and function create the architec- tural framework of each of our designs and are balanced with a need for long -term sustainability, a pro- jest's budget, beauty and aesthetics. ORDA's approach for place making begins with broad brush, comprehensive investigations, where regional and local context are evaluated alongside site spe- cific conditions, budgetary constraints, a client's desires and a communities' needs. Through site analy- sis, stakeholder interviews and listening sessions with clients and stakeholder groups from the communi- ty, ORDA strives to weave compelling solutions to create city center parks, public streetscapes and civic arenas that are environmentally and fiscally sustainable and stand as exceptional examples of public out- door spaces. As designers passionate about detail and aesthetics, we strive for beauty in each of our projects and design with an intimate understanding that the long -term sustainability of every component must be addressed and accounted for.
