CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH <br />RFO No. 14 -07 -02 115 <br />WOLFBERG ALVAREZ & PARTNERS <br />Florida International University Continuing Architectural Services Contract <br />Miami, FL <br />CONTINUING <br />SUIiVICCS <br />CON` RAC t <br />As part of an architectural continuing services contract <br />with the university, which was renewed three times, WA <br />provided architecture and engineering services for mis- <br />cellaneous projects at all of the South Florida campuses. <br />U.S. Century Bank Arena Renovations - Remodeling <br />of the new 6,400 SF locker rooms in the US Century <br />Bank Arena including complete remodeling of the bas- <br />ketball locker rooms. Engineering services included new <br />plumbing, electrical and HVAC modifications. The locker <br />rooms called for upgraded finishes and built -in furniture <br />commensurate with the heightened profile that has been <br />established by the university. <br />Client <br />Florida International University <br />Miami, FL <br />Services <br />Programming, Planning, Architecture, Mechanical, <br />Plumbing and Electrical Engineering <br />Project Cost <br />5500,000 - 54,000,000 <br />Window Replacement - Windows were replaced at the <br />FIU Library in order to address water infiltration, improve <br />energy efficiency and meet current windstorm building <br />code requirements. Approximately 15,000 SF of curtain <br />wall was replaced along with structural upgrades to ex- <br />isting building. <br />Weatherproofing - SAAC Building required extensive <br />stucco repairs to existing building, window replacement, <br />installation of new perimeter window and door sealants <br />and new waterproofing paint system to address signifi- <br />cant water intrusion issues. <br />Elevator Replacements - Modernization and replace- <br />ment of elevators on the BBC campus in the Wolfe Cen- <br />ter, Academic I Building, and the Hospitality Management <br />Building. New elevator lobby and new electrical and <br />HVAC systems for elevators and machine rooms. <br />Emergency Structural Repairs - Within one week of <br />signing the architectural continuing service contract, FIU <br />had a emergency structural issue in Building W -9.
