Chi-Ada Corporation uses cleaning product concentrates with appropriate dilution systems to minimize cleaning product <br />use wherever possible. <br />Chi-Ada Corporation removes all recyclables from each location as required. In addition, recyclables are removed <br />separately from trash to avoid contamination, placed in designated recycle bins, and transported to designated pick-up <br />locations if applicable. <br />LEED v4 for Building Operations and Maintenance Indoor Environmental Quality (EQ) Credit: Green Cleaning <br />Products and Materials. <br />The cleaning products meet one or more of the following standards for the appropriate category: <br />a. Green Seal GS-37, for general-purpose, bathroom, glass, and carpet cleaners used for industrial and institutional <br />purposes. <br />b. Environmental Choice CCD-110, for cleaning and degreasing compounds. <br />c. Environmental Choice CCD-146, for hard surface cleaners. <br />d. Environmental Choice CCD-148 for carpet and upholstery care. <br />e. Green Seal GS-40, for industrial and institutional floor care products. <br />f. Environmental Choice CCD-147, for hard-floor care. <br />Disinfectants, metal polish, or other products not addressed by the above standards meet one or more of the following <br />standards for the appropriate category: <br />a. Environmental Choice CCD-112, for digestion additives for cleaning and odor control. <br />b. Environmental Choice CCD-113, for drain or grease trap additives. <br />c. Environmental Choice CCD-115, for odor control additives. <br />d. Green Seal GS-52/53 for specialty cleaning products. <br />e. Regulations maximum allowable VOC levels for the specific product category. <br />Disposable janitorial paper products and trash bags meet the minimum requirements of 1 or more of the following <br />programs for the relevant product category: <br />a. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Comprehensive Procurement Guidelines for Janitorial Paper and Plastic Trash <br />Can Liners. <br />b. Green Seal GS-01 for tissue paper, paper towels, and napkins. <br />c. Environmental Choice CCD-082, for toilet tissue. <br />d. Environmental Choice CCD-086, for hand towels. <br />e. Janitorial paper products derived from rapidly renewable resources or tree-free fibers. <br />f. FSC certification for fiber procurement. <br />g. EPA comprehensive procurement guidelines for plastic trash can liners. <br />h. Integrated waste management requirements for plastic trash can liners <br />Hand soaps and hand sanitizers must meet one or more of the following standards: <br />a. No antimicrobial agents (other than as a preservative) except where required by health codes and other regulations <br />(e.g., food service and health care requirements). <br />b. Green Seal GS-41 for industrial and institutional hand cleaners. <br />c. Environmental Choice CCD-104, for hand cleaners and hand soaps. <br />d. Environmental Choice CCD-170, for hand sanitizers. <br />e. EPA Design for the Environment Program's standard for safer cleaning products. <br />LEED v4 for Building Operations and Maintenance Indoor Environmental Quality (EQ) Credit: Green Cleaning <br />Equipment <br />Vacuum cleaners are certified by the Carpet and Rug Institute Seal of Approval/Green Label Vacuum Program and <br />operate with a maximum sound level of 70 dBA or less under ISO 11201. <br />Carpet extraction equipment used for deep restorative cleaning is certified by the Carpet and Rug Institute's Seal of <br />Approval Deep Cleaning Extractors and Seal of Approval Deep Cleaning Systems program. <br />Powered floor maintenance equipment, such as vacuums or other devices for capturing fine particulates, must operate <br />with a maximum sound level of 70 dBA in accordance with ISO 11201. <br />Propane-powered floor equipment is not used. <br />Automated scrubbing machines must be equipped with variable-speed feed pumps and either (1) onboard cleaning <br />product metering to optimize the use of cleaning fluids or (2) dilution control systems for cleaning product refilling. <br />Alternatively, scrubbing machines may use tap water only, with no added cleaning products. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
