The project consisted of 48" <br />force main relocation, requiring careful demolition <br />of existing pipe, connections to existing FM, <br />shoring and de‐watering, deep excavation, difficult <br />access and coordination to Florida's Turnpike <br />traffic. Restoration of road and property adjacent <br />to residences. <br /> <br />Project: DERM01‐WASD‐NLE‐WEST 54" PCCP <br />Force Main Owner: Miami‐Dade Water & Sewer <br />Department Reference: Nelson Cespedes ‐ 786‐ <br />552‐8142 <br />Construction Cost: $6,649,092 ‐ 2005 (9,100 LF of <br />54"PCCP) <br />Role: Superintendent <br />Project consisted 54" PCCP near Opa‐Loka Airport, <br />NW 57th Ave and Le‐ Jeune Rd. Construction <br />required 54" Plug valves, fittings, access manholes, <br />air releases, restrained pipe, interior lining, <br />extensive de‐watering, deep excavations over 18- <br />foot-deep, sheeting and shoring. We constructed <br />open cut excavation of 30-foot canal, and also NW <br />57th avenue. Extensive coordination with airport <br />personnel, DOT, including the blocking off South <br />Florida Water management canal within their strict <br />guidelines and safety protocols. Our crews worked <br />thru the weekends and nights to minimize impacts <br />to NW 57th Ave. The project also included the use <br />and coordination of SBEs. Access to businesses, <br />on ramps, and the airport was a daily necessity <br /> <br />Project: Nautilus Neighborhood Improvements <br />Owner: City of Miami Beach <br />Reference: Aurelio Carmenates, P.E., Project Mgr. <br />(305‐431‐2110) <br />Construction Cost: $34.2 Mil ‐ 2010 <br />Role: Superintendent <br />Design‐build project consisted of water, drainage, <br />and roadway infrastructure improvements to a <br />neighborhood composed of 770 homes and 35 <br />businesses. Water construction included installing <br />34,000 feet of 8‐ inch DIP main (connecting <br />hundreds of homes in both the front and rear). <br />Drainage construction included installing 17,000 <br />feet of 18‐ to 54‐inch HDPE and RCP drainage <br />mains; connecting over 250 structures and 6 pump <br />stations. Roadway and landscape construction <br />included 134,000 SY of roadwork, 6,000 SY of <br />sidewalks & driveways, 24,000 SY of swale <br />reconstruction, planting or relocating over 1,100 <br />trees. <br /> <br />Broadview Park BP 2 NIP <br />Owner: Broward County WWSS - $17.2 million <br />Reference: Pat Sweet, Project Manager ‐ 954‐931‐ <br />3732 <br />Role: Superintendent <br />Project consisted of sewer and drainage <br />infrastructure improvements to a neighborhood of <br />760 homes. Sewer installation included 36,500 feet <br />of 6‐ to 20‐inch PVC and DIP gravity sewer with 150 <br />manholes, 3 sewer lift stations, and 14,500 feet of <br />6‐ to 12‐inch force main. Drainage installation <br />included 16,700 feet of 15‐ to 24‐ inch RCP and <br />HDPE pipe and 170 structures. The project required <br />the full reconstruction of 100,000 SY of asphalt <br />including two 1‐1/2-inch lifts.
