arising out of and in the course of employment on work under the contract. The contractor <br />shall promptly furnish the Local Public Agency with reports concerning these matters. The <br />contractor shall indemnify and save harmless the City and the City's representative from any <br />claims for damages resulting from personal injury and/or death suffered or alleged to have <br />been suffered by any person as a result of any work conducted under this contract. <br />• Explosives: The use of explosives will not be permitted under the contract. <br />• Final Inspection: Inspection by Department of Building Development Services for <br />Final Inspection shall be requested by contractor within ten (10) days of completion of <br />demolition of each separate site. Inspection to finalize demolition permit MUST be <br />requested by Contractor upon completion of demolition and site clean-up. <br />• Emergencies: Proposers shall be able to mobilize within 24 hours if requested by the <br />city. <br />The Contractor must comply with the following City's Sustainable & Resilient Procurement <br />policy standards: <br />(A) The firm shall employ the following hierarchy of highest and best use for handling <br />Construction & Demolition ("C&D") debris as follows: <br />(i) Implement reduced material usage or reuse of materials before any <br />recycling; <br />(ii) Implement recycling of source -separated material before any recycling of <br />mixed C&D debris material; <br />(iii) Implement recycling of mixed C&D debris before all other forms of disposal. <br />(B) The firm is prohibited from sending any C&D debris material directly to a landfill <br />without submitting a request to and receiving approval from the Environment & <br />Sustainability Departments. The request must demonstrate that all reuse and recycling <br />options for the material have been evaluated and determined to not be viable for <br />recycling or reusing. <br />(C) The firm shall manage all C&D debris materials to meet a minimum diversion rate <br />of 75 percent. The Environment & Sustainability Director may increase the minimum <br />diversion rate based on the Directors assessment of infrastructure, markets and <br />materials available to support the new rate. <br />(D) *Construction and Demolition Debris Management Report. The firm shall be <br />responsible to provide a Construction and Demolition Debris Management Report <br />electronically to the Environment & Sustainability Department prior to final payment, <br />including the following: <br />(i) The firm and project identification information; <br />17 <br />354 <br />
