� • F640 5 <br />rx or sv�+ r. <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach <br />18070 Collins Avenue <br />Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160 <br />(305) 947-0606 City Hall <br />(305) 949-3113 Fax <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners <br />VIA: Stan Morris, City Manager <br />FROM: Fabricio Volpi, Public Works Director <br />DATE: April 18, 2024 <br />RE: Approval of Fourth Amendment to Agreement with Jorda Enterprises, Inc. for <br />HVAC Annual Maintenance at the Government Center <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends approval of this Resolution. <br />REASONS: <br />On September 15, 2016, the City of Sunny Isles Beach issued and advertised Invitation to Bid ("ITB") <br />No. 16-09-02 for New HVAC Chiller Systems for the Government Center, and received six (6) bids. On <br />March 16, 2017, via Resolution No. 2017-2675 the City Commission awarded ITB No. 16-09-02 to Jorda <br />Enterprises, Inc. ("Contractor"), and authorized the City Manager to negotiate and enter into an <br />Agreement ("Original Agreement") with the Contractor for the New HVAC Chiller Systems for the <br />Government Center, in an amount not to exceed $774,050.00. <br />Pursuant to the Original Agreement, Contractor agreed to provide a warranty of up to 5 years for <br />certain compressor and motor parts, and up to 15 years on the basin and casing for the cooling tower. <br />The City was in need of a contractor to provide inspection and preventative maintenance services for <br />the HVAC equipment ("Services") located in the Government Center. <br />The City did not want to risk voiding the warranties if maintenance is performed by a third -party, and <br />therefore, in the interest of protecting the City's investment in the new HVAC chiller system and <br />preserving the corresponding warranty, the City Manager found that it was in the best interest of the <br />Item Number: 101 <br />459 <br />
