Summary Minutes: Regular City Commission Meeting September 18, 2014 City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida <br />Susan Simpson reported noting the handout of what the custom design of the banners will <br />look like. <br />Public Speakers: None <br />Mayor Edelcup asked if there are enough for all the banner locations, and Ms. Simpson said <br />yes. Commissioner Levin asked if the banner depicted are hibiscus, and she said yes. The <br />City Commission liked the new banner design. <br />Commissioner Scholl moved and Commissioner Levin seconded a motion to approve the <br />resolution. Resolution No. 2014 -2286 was adopted by a voice vote of 5 -0 in favor. <br />10F. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Authorizing <br />the City Manager to Expend the Not to Exceed Amount from $129,900.00 to 5147,525.00 <br />with GraphPlex Signs for Additional Signs and Posts for the City for Fiscal Year <br />2013/2014; Further Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate <br />this Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. <br />Action: Citv Clerk Hines read the title. and Cultural and Communitv Services Director <br />Susan Simpson said with the passing of the Ordinance for the no skateboarding on Collins <br />Avenue we needed to purchase some additional sign posts with the custom work of the City's <br />look, and the signs to go with that. <br />Public Speakers: None <br />Commissioner Gatto moved and Commissioner Levin seconded a motion to approve the <br />resolution. Resolution No. 2014 -2287 was adopted by a voice vote of 5 -0 in favor. <br />10G. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Providing an <br />In -Kind Donation for Use of the Chief Fred Maas Baseball Field by the North Miami <br />Beach Little League for the "Challenger Program ", in an Estimated Amount of $265.00; <br />Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; <br />Providing for an Effective Date. <br />Action: Citv Clerk Hines read the title. and Cultural and Community Services Director <br />Susan Simpson reported this is for about eight (8) Sundays. They are going to have a special <br />program where volunteer athletes work with disabled children to give them an opportunity to <br />play baseball. <br />Public Speakers: None <br />Mayor Edelcup asked if this was something that will be advertised for the City to attend if <br />they so desire, and Ms. Simpson said yes as well as an article in the newspaper to attract <br />players who would like to join as a volunteer or a player. <br />Commissioner Scholl moved and Vice Mayor Aelion seconded a motion to approve the <br />resolution.
