Summary Minutes: Regular City Commission Meeting September 18, 2014 City of sunny Isles Beach, Florida <br />Public Speakers: None <br />Vice Mayor Aelion moved and Commissioner Levin seconded a motion to approve the <br />resolution. Resolution No. 2014 -2294 was adopted by a voice vote of 5 -0 in favor. <br />ION. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida. RatiA ing an <br />Agreement with PAC Comm Inc. to Provide Construction Services for the Intracoastal <br />Seawall Emergency Repair Project, in an Amount Not to Exceed $952,918.05. Attached <br />Hereto as Exhibit "A",- Authorizing Waiver of Competitive Bidding Procedures; Authorizing <br />the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; Providing for an <br />Effective Date. <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Assistant City Manager Bill Evans reported that <br />140 linear feet in the south section of the Seawall at the newly constructed Intracoastal Parks <br />fell in August. We quickly got in touch with our Consultant and DERM and DEP and had all <br />the representatives out there. The closest and the most acceptable to us in the governmental <br />agencies was the company PAC Comm who had a barge close by. We are currently about <br />280 feet on the south side, and we have received authorization by DERM and DEP to go to <br />the north side. <br />Public Speakers: None <br />Vice Mayor Aelion asked if the diving team examined not only the affected area but also the <br />rest of the seawall, and City Manager Russo said yes, as well as additional testing. Mayor <br />Edelcup thanked City Manager Russo, Assistant City Manager Bill Evans and staff for <br />handling the emergency situation in such a quick manner, and we were able to mobilize a <br />team of people to fix this. Commissioner Scholl asked how much is it per linear foot, and <br />Assistant City Manager Evans said it is about $1,200.00 a linear foot. <br />Vice Mayor Aelion moved and Commissioner Scholl seconded a motion to approve the <br />resolution. Resolution No. 2014 -2295 was adopted by a voice vote of 5 -0 in favor. <br />100. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida. Ratifying <br />the Sale and Purchase Agreement Between the City of Sunny Isles Beach and Plaza of <br />the Americas Club, Inc., to Acquire Land for the 826 West Overpass Pedestrian Bridge, <br />Attached Hereto as Exhibit "A"; Providing the City Manager and the City Attorney with the <br />Authority to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; Providing for an <br />Effective Date. <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and City Attomey Ottinot reported we will have a <br />bridge that will connect Gateway Park to the neighborhood on the north side of 826 West <br />with the help of Plaza of Americas Board of Directors. We purchased the property, for <br />$372,000 plus attorney's fees and costs. <br />Public Speakers: Jeniffer Viscarra <br />Vice Mayor Aelion moved and Commissioner Scholl seconded a motion to approve the <br />resolution. Resolution No. 2014 -2296 was adopted by a voice vote of 5 -0 in favor. <br />112 <br />
