Summary Minutes: Regular City Commission Meeting September 18, 2014 City of Sunny [sin Beach, Florida <br />10K. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida; Awarding <br />Bid No. 14 -07 -03 and Approving an Agreement with Tropic Fence, Inc. for the <br />Fabrication and Installation of Custom Gates for the Arlen House Streetscape Project, <br />in an Amount Not to Exceed $38,838.93; Authorizing the Mayor to Execute Said <br />Agreement; Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this <br />Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title. and Assistant City Manager Bill Evans reported this <br />is for Arlen House, a large industrial gate on the Collins Avenue side; and a pedestrian gate <br />on the side street. <br />Public Speakers: None <br />Vice Mayor Aelion moved and Commissioner Scholl seconded a motion to approve the <br />resolution. Resolution No. 2014 -2292 was adopted by a voice vote of 5 -0 in favor. <br />10L. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Approving <br />the First Amendment to the Agreement with R.J. Behar & Company, Inc. to Provide <br />Additional Engineering and Architectural Services for Samson Oceanfront Park, in an <br />Amount Not to Exceed 538,364.00. Attached Hereto as Exhibit "A": Authorizing the Mayor <br />to Execute Said Amendment to Agreement; Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things <br />Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title. and Assistant City Manager Bill Evans reported that <br />we increased the scope with concrete roofs over the stage, the playground feature, etc.. the <br />landscape was enhanced somewhat by bringing on an Architect. <br />Public Speakers: None <br />Commissioner Levin moved and Commissioner Scholl seconded a motion to approve the <br />resolution. Resolution No. 2014 -2293 was adopted by a voice vote of 5 -0 in favor. <br />Mayor Edelcup noted for the record that we do have a Workshop on the Tuesday before the <br />Commission Meeting and we get more into detail, and that is why we are kind of breezing <br />through some of these items. <br />10M. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida. Approving <br />the First Amendment to the Agreement with Craig A. Smith & Associates, to Provide <br />Surveying, Engineering and Permitting Services for the Reconstruction of the 174`h <br />Street Drainage Improvement Project; in an Amount Not to Exceed S 15,434.90, Attached <br />Hereto as Exhibit "A "; Authorizing the Mayor to Execute Said Amendment to Agreement; <br />Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; <br />Providing for an Effective Date. <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title. and Assistant City Manager Bill Evans said the 174'b <br />Street Project where it ties in at North Bay Road to the Emergency Pedestrian Bridge Project <br />we needed some additional utility locates done out there. We also had to redesign some <br />crosswalk sections to meet ADA compliance, and do some additional drainage design to <br />make both projects flow correctly. <br />15 <br />
