ar ,a�7 t�'tq Wt <br />FrP 4f SUK �� <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach <br />18070 Collins Avenue <br />Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160 <br />(305) 947-0606 City Hall <br />(305) 949-3113 Fax <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners <br />VIA: Stan Morris, City Manager <br />FROM: Chief Edward Santiago and Genesis Cuevas, Purchasing Manager <br />DATE: November 21, 2024 <br />RE: Award Request for Proposals No. 24-08-01; Authorize City Manager to <br />Negotiate and Execute an Agreement with Dolphin Towing and Recovery, Inc. <br />and Midtown Towing of Miami, Inc. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends approval of this Resolution. <br />REASONS: <br />On August 5, 2024, the city released RFP # 24-08-01 titled Towing Services. <br />The City of Sunny Isles Beach invited licensed and experienced towing firms to submit qualifications and <br />proposals for the removal, impounding, and/or storage of junk vehicles, abandoned vehicles, illegally <br />parked vehicles, non -drivable vehicles at accident scenes, the vehicles of prisoners arrested by the City <br />of Sunny Isles Beach Police Department, confiscated vehicles, or for any other reason that arises from <br />the streets or other areas within the City, or from other locations as directed by the Police Department. <br />The City of Sunny Isles Beach intends to enter into agreements with one (1) or more successful <br />proposers to provide towing services on a month-to-month rotating basis. The City may elect to <br />contract with a total of three towing companies on a monthly rotating basis, as it is deemed in the City's <br />best interest. The Towing Firm will provide 24-hour towing services, 365 days per year. The proposer <br />will supply the City with priority services, especially during emergency disasters such as <br />floods/hurricanes. The Towing Firm must charge the Non -Consent Tow Rates in accordance with <br />Miami -Dade County Maximum rates and will only be adjusted by County revisions to these rates. <br />Failure to service emergency calls within a reasonable time or contract fees, may result in contract <br />termination. <br />Item Number: 9.Y <br />620 <br />
