Tp aF s:1 ci rx+
City of Sunny Isles Beach
18070 Collins Avenue
Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160
(305) 947-0606 City Hall
(305) 949-3113 Fax
MEMORANDUM
TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners
VIA: Stan Morris, City Manager
FROM: Fabricio Volpi, Public Works Director
DATE: January 16, 2025
RE: Second Amendment to Agreement with IAM Electric, Inc. for Street Lighting
Preventative Services
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this Resolution.
11iFIi<I
The City is nearing completion of the Golden Shores Undergrounding Project. The portion left for the
City to complete requires an electrician to work directly with FPL to connect the homes. Our current
contractor does not have an electrician on staff and would need to sub -contract this portion of the
work. The proposed subcontractor is IAM Electric (IAM). IAM is currently a contractor for the city for
street light maintenance and other electrical work via Invitation to Bid ITB No. 23-11-01. Therefore, the
city has an opportunity to contract directly with IAM to ensure better control over the project and a
potential cost savings.
IAM has provided a proposal to complete this work based on Time and Materials estimated at
$372,000.00. Their proposal matches the same rates as provided in their bid award for ITB 23-11-01.
Staff is requesting approval of this resolution to amend the existing agreement with IAM to add the
Golden Shores Undergrounding project in an amount not to exceed $372,000.00 bringing the total
amount of the contract to $592,000.00.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funding for this item is included in the Capital Improvement Program budget, account number
Item Number: 9.S
435
