Each anchor proposed for use shall have a current ICC Evaluation report indicating <br />allowable capacity in applicable concrete substrate materials. <br /> <br />1.5 PROJECT CONDITIONS <br /> <br />A. [Fill over deck is lightweight concrete.] <br /> <br />B. [Cast-in-place normal weight concrete.] <br /> <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br /> <br />2.1 CONCRETE ANCHORS <br /> <br />A. Torque-Controlled Expansion Anchors: Kwik Bolt TZ, by Hilti (ICC ESR-1917), Strong-Bolt <br />by Simpson (ICC ESR-1771), or approved equal. <br /> <br />B. Shell-type (drop-in) Anchors: HDI by Hilti, Drop-in by Simpson, or approved equal. <br /> <br />C. Powder Driven Fasteners: X-U fasteners as manufactured by Hilti, Inc. (ICC- ESR-2269), <br />or approved equal. <br /> <br />D. Epoxy Adhesive (Cartridge-Type): ICC approved, two component structural epoxy; <br />prepackaged in cartridges for manually or pneumatically operated caulk gun and <br />automatically mixed at nozzle. Subject to compliance with requirements provide one of <br />the following: <br /> <br />HIT RE500-SD Adhesive Anchoring System, Hilti, Inc. (ICC ESR-2322). <br /> <br />HIT-HY 150 MAX-SD Adhesive Anchoring System, Hilti, Inc. (ICC ESR-3013). <br /> <br />SET-XP Adhesive Anchoring Systems, Simpson Strong-Tie Co. (ICC ESR-2508). <br /> <br />2.2 ANCHOR RESTRICTIONS <br /> <br />A. Wedge-type Anchors: Acceptable for applications within the limitations of the applicable <br />ICC report. <br /> <br />B. Shell-type (drop-in) Anchors: Shall not be used in applications requiring resistance to <br />forces due to wind or earthquake or tension forces due to gravity. <br /> <br />C. Powder Driven Fasteners: Shall not be used in applications requiring resistance to forces <br />due to wind or earthquake forces or tension forces due to gravity. <br /> <br />D. Epoxy Anchors: Acceptable for applications within the limitations of the applicable ICC <br />report and shall not be used to fasten overhead, wall mounted or fire resistive <br />construction. Epoxy dowels shall not be used for substitution of lap splices. <br /> <br /> <br />
