THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH <br />PROJECT NO. 21-1011 <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT RELOCATION TO ANNEX <br /> <br />Project No. 21-1011 November 2024 034700 Site Concrete-2 <br />B. Form Release Agent: The Contractor shall furnish and install a commercial formulation form- <br />release agent with a maximum of 350 g/L volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that shall not <br />bond with, stain or adversely affect the concrete surfaces and shall not impair subsequent <br />treatments of concrete surfaces. <br /> <br />2.2 REINFORCING MATERIALS <br /> <br />A. The Contractor shall comply with all applicable requirements of the FDOT’s Standard <br />Specifications for Highways and Bridges or the following: <br /> <br />1 Reinforcing Bars and Tie Bars: ASTM Designation A615, Grade 60, deformed. <br /> <br />2 Joint Dowel Bars: Plain steel bars, ASTM Designation A615, Grade 60. Cut bars true <br />to length with ends squared and free of burrs. <br /> <br />3 Supports for Reinforcement: Chairs, spacers, dowel bar supports and other devices for <br />spacing, supporting and fastening reinforcing bars, welded wire fabric, and dowels in <br />place. The Contractor shall use wire bar-type supports complying with CRSI <br />specifications. <br /> <br />3.1 CONCRETE MATERIALS <br /> <br />A. The Contractor shall comply with all applicable requirements of the FDOT’s Standard <br />Specifications for Highways and Bridges. <br /> <br />B. Fly Ash: ASTM Designation C618, Type F. <br /> <br />C. Normal-Weight Aggregates: ASTM Designation C33, Class 4, and as follows. Provide <br />aggregates from a single source. <br /> <br />1. Maximum aggregate size: 1½-inches. <br /> <br />2. The Contractor shall not use fine or coarse aggregates that contain substances <br />that cause spalling. <br /> <br />3. Local aggregate strength and durability by special tests or actual service may be used <br />when acceptable to Engineer. <br /> <br />D. Water: Potable. <br /> <br />E. Fiber Reinforcement: Synthetic fibers engineered and designed for secondary reinforcement <br />of concrete slabs shall be in accordance with ASTM Designation C1116, Type III <br /> <br />3.2 ADMIXTURES <br /> <br />A. The Contractor shall furnish and install air-entraining admixture in accordance with ASTM <br />Designation C260, certified by the Manufacturer to be compatible with other required <br />admixtures. Other admixtures shall be as approved by the Engineer. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
