ASTM International: <br /> <br />1. ASTM A615 / A615M Standard Specification for Deformed and Plain Carbon-Steel <br />Bars for Concrete Reinforcement. <br /> <br />2. ASTM C 90 Standard Specification for Loadbearing Concrete Masonry Units <br />D. AWS D12.1 Reinforcing Steel Welding Code <br />1.3 SUBMITTALS <br />A. Submit under provisions of Division 01 Section "General Requirements." <br />B. Submit Shop Drawings for reinforcement, anchorages and embedment. Indicate bar sizes, <br />spacings, locations, and quantities of reinforcing steel bending and cutting schedules, <br />supporting and spacing. <br />C. Submit Manufacturer's certified mill test reports on each heat of reinforcing steel to be used <br />in the work before placement. <br />D. Submit two 12 inch (300 mm) long samples of expansion and control joint materials. <br />E. Submit manufacturer's certificates. <br />1.4 ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS <br />A. Maintain materials and surrounding air temperature to at least 50 deg F (10 deg C) prior to, <br />during, and 48 hours after completion of masonry work. <br /> <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br /> <br />2.1 CONCRETE MASONRY UNITS <br />A. Hollow Load Bearing Units: conforming to [UBC Standard 21-4, Grade N]1; light weight, <br />plain smooth face in the manufacturer’s standard color. Strength of units shall be [as <br />indicated on the Drawings] [f`m =[1500 psi (10.35 MPa)] [2000 psi (13.8 MPa)] [2500 psi <br />(17.25 MPa)]]. <br />B. Masonry Units: Modular sized to 8x8x16 and 8x12x16 inch as shown on the Drawings; <br />provide special units for 90° corners, open ended, double open ended, bond beams and <br />lintels. The use of LCC blocks is not permitted. <br /> <br />2.2 REINFORCEMENT AND ANCHORAGES <br />A. Single Wythe Joint Reinforcement: Truss and Seismic Comb type, galvanized steel <br />construction; as manufactured by Dur-o-wall, or equal. <br />B. Reinforcing Steel: Type specified and grade as specified in Division 03 Section "Concrete <br />Reinforcing". <br /> <br />2.3 ACCESSORIES <br />A. Control Joints: Preformed neoprene Orpolyvinyl chloride material. <br />
