THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH <br />PROJECT NO. 21-1011 <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT RELOCATION TO ANNEX <br /> <br />Project No. 21-1011 November 2024 072200 Roof and Decking Insulation-3 <br />1. FM 4470 SPRI Corrosion Test Procedure for Roofing Fasteners. To pass, <br />the fasteners shall not accumulate more that 15 percent red rust after the <br />"required number cycles" in the Kesternich cabinet. <br />a. The required number of cycles is as currently recommended by <br />FM and SPRI, but in no case shall it be less than 15. G. Adhesives: <br />Conform to manufacturer's recommendations. <br /> <br />2.2 COMPATIBILITY OF PRODUCTS <br /> <br />A. Verify the compatibility of products specified in this Section with products specified in <br />Division 07 Roofing Section. Substitution of components that restrict or limit the warranty <br />will not be accepted. <br /> <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br /> <br />3.1 INSTALLATION <br /> <br />A. Comply with insulation manufacturer's instructions and recommendations for the handling, <br />installation, and bonding or anchorage or insulation to substrate. <br /> <br />B. Install cover board in accordance with final Shop Drawings and roof system Performance <br />requirements. <br /> <br />C. Areas to be re-roofed shall have the existing roof and insulation removed down to the <br />substrate. Substrate shall be cleaned prior to laying the new insulation. <br /> <br />D. Insulation: Lay in multiple courses. Butt edges to provide contact, do not deform or place <br />in surface compression. Cut and fit insulation around projections and vertical surfaces. <br />Miter edges at ridges and elsewhere to prevent open joints. Stagger end joints in adjoining <br />courses or base course. Stagger joints in succeeding layers with joints of layer below. <br /> <br />1. Mechanically fastened at metal deck locations: Secure all layers of insulation to <br />deck using approved mechanical fasteners specifically designed and sized for <br />attachment of specified insulation type to metal deck. Fasteners penetrating metal <br />deck shall be exposed not more than a maximum of 1/2 to 3/4 inch beyond top <br />flute of the deck. <br /> <br />E. Attach roof insulation to roof deck in accordance with ASCE 7-10 requirements for the <br />Miami-Dade area. <br /> <br />3.2 COORDINATION <br /> <br />A. Coordinate installation with other relative work preceding and subsequent to actual <br />insulation installation including, but not limited to, the following: <br /> <br />1. Nailers, blocking, and insulation strips <br /> <br />2. Flashings <br /> <br />3. Roof membrane
