THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH <br />PROJECT NO. 21-1011 <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT RELOCATION TO ANNEX <br />Project No. 21-1011 November 2024 076200 Flashing and Sheet Metal-8 <br />3” o.c. <br />E. Prime metal flange, projection, and pitch pan interior with asphalt primer. Do not <br />prime pan interior or projection if two-part pitch pocket sealant is used. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />F. Seal flange with two strips of polyester roofing ply embedded between alternate <br />spreads of hot melt adhesive. Extend first ply two inches beyond flange, second <br />ply two inches beyond first ply. <br />G. Apply final top pour of asphalt over flashings. <br />H. Fill to pitch pan 3/4” from top with non-shrink grout, allow to set up. <br />I. Seal top with specified pitch pan sealant. <br />J. All penetrations will receive a bonnet or watershed as shown in detail drawings. <br /> <br />3.4 AT PLUMBING VENTS <br /> <br />A. Remove existing stack flashing. <br />B. Wedge plumbing vent tight against deck. <br />C. Fabricate and install plumbing vent flashing from specified lead. <br /> <br />1. Flange, four inches wide minimum, extend completely around periphery <br />of vent flashing. Set flange into asphalt mastic. Neatly dress flange with <br />wood block. <br />2. Pipe outside diameters greater than two inches: Bend lead inside pipe <br />one inch minimum with pliers or rubber/plastic mallet. Replace cracked <br />lead. <br />3. Pipe outside diameters two inches or less: Cut lead at vent top. Fabricate <br />and install integral lead cap. <br />4. Prime metal flange with asphalt primer and allow to dry. <br />5. Apply hot melt adhesive on metal flange and onto roof. <br />6. Flash with three targets of flashing base ply felt, four, eight, and twelve <br />inches larger than lead flange. <br /> <br />3.5 EQUIPMENT STANDS - "I" BEAMS AND ANGLE IRONS <br /> <br />A. Remove existing flashing. Weld 1/4-inch plate steel (where required) to open portion of <br />beam. Slope to shed water away from I-beam. Fill beam interior below sloped plate to <br />roof deck with batt insulation. Install vertical and horizontal sections of wood blocking <br />around column. Blocking height to be a minimum of 8 inches above final insulation surface.
