THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH <br />PROJECT NO. 21-1011 <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT RELOCATION TO ANNEX <br />Project No. 21-1011 November 2024 076200 Flashing and Sheet Metal-7 <br />above finished roof membrane. <br /> <br />C. Cap ply: <br /> <br />1. Fully adhere a flashing top ply over base ply. <br /> <br />a. Flashings shall be torch applied. <br />2. Mechanically fasten top of flashing to substrate, fasten minimum of 8 inches on <br />center. <br />3. Seal top edge with a 4-inch-wide stripping membrane embedded in alternating <br />courses of specified Asphalt Mastic. <br />4. Strip in bottom edge of flashing with 4-inch-wide stripping membrane and specified <br />flashing adhesive. <br />5. Surface flashing with specified protective coating (if specified). <br />6. Install specified counterflashing system as per detail drawings. <br /> <br />D. Additional instructions for mineral surface flashing cap. <br />1. Snap a chalk line 6” from the toe of cant out onto roof membrane. <br /> <br />2. Measure the distance from the chalk line up the wall to where flashing will be <br />terminated. On sloped roofs, take two measurements 1 meter (39”) apart. <br />3. Measure down length of a roll of specified membrane, and cut, in cross machine <br />direction, a section same length. If roof is sloped, start at the bottom, and transfer <br />height measurement to cutting of the flashing cap. Each section is 1 meter (39”) <br />in width. <br />4. Apply section in specified adhesive using a strapping method, overlapping the <br />exposed smooth selvage with each new section. Bottom of flashing cap must be <br />lined up 6” from toe of cant, on chalk line. <br />5. The salvage of the last section should be cut flush to the mineral surface prior to <br />the application, ensuring that total flashing surface is mineral surfaced. <br />6. All areas where excessive adhesive is exposed on side laps may be coated with <br />specified heat reflective coating or granules sprinkled in as flashing sections are <br />installed. <br /> <br />3.3 AT SINGLE AND MULTIPLE PENETRATIONS-SMALL PIPES & CONDUITS <br /> <br />A. Remove existing pitch pans. <br />B. Install roofing system onto wood blocking. <br />C. Apply 1/16 inch uniformly thick layer of asphalt mastic to surface receiving metal <br />flange. <br />D. Install specified pitch pan(s) around penetration(s) and fasten flange to blocking
