Fire Stop Foam: <br /> <br />1. Medium density, 2-part silicone elastomer with fire resistant properties to meet fire <br />rating of wall, ceiling or floor as indicated. <br /> <br />2. Have ability to form in place and fill complex geometrics to provide a tight, <br />compressive fit. <br /> <br />3. Have ability to be poked through and resealed easily when penetration is modified. <br /> <br />B. Fire Stop Sealant: <br /> <br />1. One part silicone elastomeric sealant with fire resistant properties to meet fire <br />rating of wall, ceiling or floor as indicated, and stop the passage of fire, smoke, <br />fumes and water through the fire-rated penetration. <br /> <br />2. Little or no damming shall be required for small, simple penetrations. <br /> <br />C. Damming and Priming Materials: <br /> <br />1. Include particleboard plywood or other suitable forming materials to contain foam <br />and/or sealant. <br /> <br />2. Provide prime coat for sealant if recommended by manufacturers. <br /> <br />D. Use in the following locations where indicted: <br /> <br />1. All penetrations in partition wall between Generator and Equipment Rooms. Seal <br />from both sides. <br /> <br />E. Manufacturer: <br /> <br />1. Dow Corning RTV Fire Stop Foam and Fire Stop Sealant. <br /> <br />2. General Electric TRV 7403 and Pensil 851. <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br /> <br />3.1 JOINT SURFACE PREPARATION: <br /> <br />A. Joint Cleaning: <br /> <br />1. Clean joint surfaces immediately before application of sealant. <br /> <br />2. Remove all foreign material from joint substrates which could interfere with <br />adhesion of joint sealer, including dust, paints (except for permanent protective <br />coatings tested and approved for sealant adhesion and compatibility by sealant <br />manufacturer), oil, grease, waterproofing water repellents, water, surface dirt, and <br />frost. <br />
