Section includes: Porcelain tile. <br /> <br />1.2 REFERENCES <br /> <br />A. A. 2015 TCNA Handbook for Ceramic Stone, and Glass Tile Installation by the Tile <br />Council of North America, Inc. (TCNA). <br /> <br />1.3 SUBMITTALS <br /> <br />A. One current TCNA Handbook on Site for reference <br /> <br />B. Certification or other proof of installers attending training session. <br /> <br />1.4 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br /> <br />A. 2015 TCNA Handbook to be available on site at the request of the Architect or Owner <br /> <br />B. Engage an experienced installer who has completed tile installations similar in material, <br />design, and extent to that indicated for this Project. <br />1. Installers are required to attend a training session reviewing industry standards <br />applicable to installations for this Project. <br />2. At a minimum, installers (one installer in each area) shall be Journeymen Tile <br />Layers, as recognized by the Department of Labor, tested as part of the Certified <br />Tile Installer Program offered thru the Ceramic Tile Education Foundation, or <br />equivalent programs offered by the National Tile Contractors Association (Five <br />star Contractor Program), the Tile Contractor’s Association of America (Trowel of <br />Excellence), or Tile-installer Thin-set Standards verification thru the University of <br />Ceramic Tile and Stone. <br /> <br />C. Obtain each color, grade, finish, type, composition, and variety of tile from a single <br />source with resources to provide products of consistent quality in appearance and <br />physical properties without delaying progress of the Work. <br /> <br />D. Do not use mortars for leveling or truing substrates unless product is specifically <br />designed for that purpose. <br /> <br />1.5 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING <br /> <br />A. Deliver and store packaged materials in original containers with seals unbroken and <br />labels intact until time of use. <br /> <br />B. Prevent damage or contamination to materials by water, freezing, foreign matter, and <br />other causes.
